Clearly articulating strategic plan or organization strategy is equally important as creating it in the first place. This need is based on the assumption, that if organizations internal and external stakeholders do not understand the strategy there is no point to have one. The answer for a reason of the action is extremely important in the organiza...

... Kotlar et al. (2018) figured that the financial success of a corporation is only marginally and adversely affected by environmentally conscious management. Some enterprises have adopted green management strategies yet have not translated into sustainable practices (Muisyo and Qin 2021;Loknath and Azeem, 2017). This may discourage companies from adopting green management practices (Longoni et al., 2018). ...
This study investigated the mediation of business sustainability on the link between green management and competitive advantage. The value of this pursuit is based on the vague findings of existing literature on how green management and business sustainability can contribute to competitive advantage. The participants of this study are managers of garment manufacturing companies in the Pearl River Delta of Guangzhou City, China. They were surveyed using a Likert scale questionnaire. Response data were analysed using partial least squares-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). This study found a significant effect of green management on business sustainability. Furthermore, business sustainability has a significant effect on competitive advantage. However, direct analysis revealed no significant effect of green management on competitive advantage. Consequently, the link between green management and competitive advantage depends on the sustainable practices implemented by garment manufacturing companies. The implications for garment manufacturing and for future research are also given in this paper. The Garments manufacturing industry should emphasise deploying green management practices and ensure that these methods result in quantifiable advances in sustainability, enhancing their competitive edge.
... Specialized studies on carbon emissions [4,5], green behavior [6], green management systems [6][7][8][9], and many other topics have emerged from research on environmental policy. Green leadership is defined by the environmental policies that leaders implement [10][11][12]. However, leadership is also defined by a leader's capacity to sway their followers [13]. ...
... To carry out the green management strategy, Loknath and Azeem (2017) and Kovilage (2021) demonstrate that green firms implement green activities to reduce regulatory risk, reduce client exposure to harmful materials, expand the reuse and recycling of materials utilized in the production process, increase energy efficiency, use environmentally friendly resources, gather and spread data about the company's ecological effects and performance, reduce waste, and involve stakeholders in ecological decision-making. In fact, airlines are under pressure to make their operations environmentally friendly due to the pollution and carbon emissions they produce through their service acts (Somerville, 2012). ...

The lean green approach (LG) has gained importance in the service sector. LG is a recent approach that combines green management and lean thinking principles into a single paradigm. The simultaneous implementation of LG can help airlines improve resource efficiency, reduce costs, conserve the environment, and remain competitive. Although LG approach achieves many benefits for airlines, several challenges remain. The overall objective of this research is to explore the practices, opportunities, and challenges of the LG approach at airlines in Egypt. Moreover, this study also evaluates the effect of LG adoption on the airlines' competitive advantage (CA). Based upon the mixed methodology, this study conducted (18) semi-structured interviews with experts in airline companies operating in Egypt. Besides, a structured questionnaire was distributed to (89) participants to examine the effect of LG implementation on the CA of airlines. The empirical findings indicate that LG practices have a positive impact on the airlines' CA. The findings of interviews reveal that LG practices provide broad opportunities for airlines by enhancing the following issues: management of catering inventory, cost reduction, ground handling services, ecological behaviour for customers and employees, workflows and operational performance, aircraft maintenance, fuel consumption and recycling, and sustainability. The findings also illustrate a range of challenges that airlines may face when implementing LG practices, like keeping pace with technological development, human resource training policies, resistance to change, the culture of management, waste management, and sustainable aviation fuels. Finally, implications for practice as well as future research are discussed.
... Bu doğrultuda bu çalışmanın amacının özellikle son beş yılda yerli ve yabancı alan yazında (Aristei & Gallo, 2023;Çakanel, İrmiş & Çoban Kumbalı, 2022;Doğan, 2022;Göktaş ve Şengöl, 2022;Kara, 2019;Karakuş & Erdirençelebi, 2018;Koçman, 2022;Loknath & Azeem, 2017;Mohiuddin & Al-Amin, 2022;Önel, 2021;Raharjo, 2019;Sharma, 2020;Tekin & Mert, 2021;Zhou, Shu, Jiang & Gao, 2019) artan bir şekilde ilgi gören, iş yapış süreçleriyle çevresel konuları bütünleştiren, yeşil felsefesini sağlık sektörü özelinde incelemek olduğu söylenebilir. Bu kapsamda, öncelikle sağlık sektöründe faaliyet gösteren işletmelerde yeşil yönetim kavramına, bu kavramın önemine, amacına, avantaj-dezavantajlarına ve sağlık işletmelerinde yeşil yönetim anlayışını destekleyen işletme fonksiyonlarına yer verilmiştir. ...
... The green business promotes green management principles, policies, and practices that improve the quality of life for customers, employees, and the communities in which they operate. For example, when a product allows being environmentally friendly in some ways but at the same time unsafe in the long run, it could be argued that labeling it as green is wrong and even socially irresponsible to have this product in the market (Loknath et al., 2017). ...
A green supply chain is used to consider the environmental effects of all products, including environmental influences originating from goods/products and the product manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products. This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis on the green supply chain topic by combining mapping analysis using VOSviewer software. In collecting the data, we used a quantitative bibliometric approach. Meanwhile, a descriptive method is used to obtain the results from the data collected. The data were retrieved from a Google Scholar search. We found 996 articles published in the 2012–2022 period from the search results. The results show that research on the green supply chain topic in 2012-2016 has not been widely carried out, and there has been an increase in 2017-2020. However, research on the green supply chain topic declined in 2021-2022. In conclusion, this study shows the importance of conducting bibliometric analysis, particularly on the green supply chain topic. This research is expected to be a reference for further research in conducting and determining the research theme.
... The second group is the energy sector companies that have been able to exploit the opportunity created by green technology to gain a competitive advantage [66,67]. The third group includes energy companies that have moved beyond compliance and have incorporated their environmental strategy into their overall business strategy [64,66]. There is also the fourth group, which gathers the companies that exceed those in previous categories. ...
Sustainable development (SD) can indicate the direction of the development of modern organizations’ transition and transformation strategies in the energy sector. Currently, in most countries, the main challenge for the energy sector’s strategies is to deal with energy security. The implementation of SD induces changes both in strategy and technology. The strategies are based on the technological transition toward renewable energy sources (RES). The aim of this paper is to explore business management literature dedicated to the transformation and transition strategies in the energy sector. The adopted methods are a systematic literature review (SLR) accompanied by a classical literature review (CLR) in Scopus database exploration. A literature review is developed in VOSviewer software and keyword co-occurrences analysis allowed to identify the main changes of direction in energy sector transformation strategies. The literature was explored by the 26 queries which resulted with 11 bibliometric maps. The analysis of the bibliometric maps was a challenge due to the cross-disciplinary strategic directions of development presented in indexed publications in the Scopus database. The identification of the changes in energy sector strategies is important because of its reliance on depleting resources and natural environment degradation. As a result of this paper, there is a visible shift of the trend in explored scientific publication from not only technological-based solutions but also towards managerial and organizational practices to achieve sustainability in the energy sector. This paper, besides the results, presents the theoretical contribution and managerial recommendations for business practices and addresses future research avenues. There are discussed implications of the presented analysis for further research.
... Being closely related to environmental (green) governance, it refers to both the activities of business entities and, on the national scale, the activities of government authorities. At the same time, the efforts of both governmental and non-governmental organizations operating at the international level are associated with the concept of environmental (green) management (Loknath & Azeem, 2017). ...
... Based on this, most large companies are seeking an integrated approach to the use of green governance tools. It must include green technology use and promote ideas that are consistent with sustainability and responsible environmental management principles (Loknath & Azeem, 2017). ...
... Advances in high technology make it possible to process and analyze (Loknath & Azeem, 2017). In addition to the fact that green governance is a fairly new concept, the lack of a comprehensive and accurate description, as well as the confusion over a number of practices that actually constitute it, another obstacle to its solid definition is its labeling with different nomenclatures, such as corporate environmental responsibility or corporate sustainability (Loknath & Azeem, 2017). ...
This study considers the role and importance of Big Data analytics (BDA) in green governance and corporate social responsibility, as well as the prospects for their development. The purpose of the research is to determine how BDA can contribute to green governance and corporate social responsibility. In addition, the concepts of green governance and corporate social responsibility are studied in terms of their relationship with the concept of sustainable development. The study suggests that currently BDA is not widely used in the formation of corporate social responsibility rules and mechanisms, but it has great potential for the expansion in this area. At the moment, this potential is not being fully realized due to the lack of both relevant empirical studies and data interpretation techniques. Important Big Data sources include social networks and company reports on corporate social responsibility, which are in the public domain.
... In the scientific literature, organizational management functions are divided into general and special functions [83]. General management functions are repeated across different processes [84,85]. General management functions include planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. ...
Due to the increasing relevance and importance of sustainable development pursuit, it can be assumed that organizations are striving to develop in a green direction. This is not only related to raising awareness of modern society but also to legal regulation and strategic documents for achieving the goals of sustainable development at the international level, especially affecting certain fields of activity such as energy or manufacturing. It is noticed that there is still a lack of definition in the scientific literature of what kind of organization is considered green. Therefore, it is appropriate to create a green organization benchmark against which organizations can assess their current level of greenness and identify areas for improvement. This research aimed to choose the most suitable approach for developing a green organization benchmark by examining the methods for evaluating an organization’s performance in terms of greenness according to defined attributes. Applying the methods of systematic and comparative analysis of scientific literature and strategic documents, content analysis, grouping, and synthesis, it was determined that the approach of resources of an organization can be considered the most suitable for creating a green organization benchmark. However, it is reasonable to supplement it with an evaluation of external environmental factors.
... Businesses in different industries have different practices and innovations to be green when selecting strategies, dynamic mechanisms and implementation plans to achieve green outcomes. The consistency in deciphering the definition of green practices in the TCM industry is a challenge as searches from databases yield green practices in different industries, under different contexts and settings [113]. Moreover, TCM organizational stakeholders foster multilateral interactions, which are not confined to interactions within the organization, but also interact with other stakeholders in the TCM industry and other industries. ...
TCM health benefits and pressure to thrive TCM businesses while taking care of the sustainability of resources has challenged the TCM industry to produce more with less. It is of interest to know how TCM businesses innovate to sustainability through green practices. By capturing the perspectives of TCM organizational stakeholders on practices to minimize the negative impacts on the local environment by TCM enterprises (clinics) in Singapore from the lens of a qualitative exploratory study, the present study explored the presence of green practices and innovations of TCM organizational stakeholders though it is less clear whether these engagements are conducted out of the intention to be green, as these are daily practices at TCM clinics. The phenomenological approach was applied to examine the lived experiences of study participants who work or had worked at TCM clinics in Singapore. The highlights of the paper stressed inadequate focus on green practices at the organizational level to achieve sustainable development targets of TCM industry in Singapore, despite the existence of self-awareness at the individual level to protect the environment. The findings can be building blocks for future research on green and policy making. Green practices and innovations to stay healthy while protecting the environment, with more sensible choices, can bring differences to humans’ lives.
