Uiterlijk De wespen in de groep van de Evanioidea hebben het eerste achterlijfssegment (niet laag maar) hoog ingeplant op het eind van het borststuk. Aulacus striatus is in ons land in het veld herkenbaar aan de habitus in combinatie met habitat en gedrag (Fig. 1). Onderkant gezicht en kaken, poten (excl. coxa, trochanter en trochantellus) en het midden van het achterlijf zijn rood tot roodbruin; de rest van het lichaam is zwart gekleurd. In this first article on the family Proctotrupidae in nature reserve De Kaaistoep two species are illustrated: Brachyserphus parvulus (Nees, 1834) and Mischoserphus arcuator (Stelfox, 1950). M. arcuator is a new genus and species for the Netherlands. From the literature the biology of the family Proctotrupidae is summarised.
