The biggest challenge of any business is to sustain and grow. In order to compete it is essential to know what competencies a business needs. In any business strategy, people are more critical than the plan. Strategies can only be effectively implemented if organizations have a competent force of employee. Organizations of the future will have to r...

This paper looks at the nature of competence-based education (CBE) in the context of the contemporary educational policy, theory, research, and practice. Firstly, it briefly presents the dimensions of the concept of competences in education. Then, the study discusses some terminological and conceptual issues related to CBE. The article also considers some critical voices that question the nature and the effectiveness of CBE. It concludes with a proposal for an educational design that moves beyond the CBE framework and integrates it with humanistic ideas and principles.
... Nowadays, the classical approach of teaching with a steady learning rhythm has lost its relevance. Thus, it is necessary to create a progress-oriented training course that can activate students' interest not only in grades but also in increasing personal potential [39]. Teachers should assign practical tasks via a virtual learning platform to develop student competencies [40]. ...
Today, it is almost impossible to implement teaching processes without using information and communication technologies (ICT), especially in higher education. Education institutions often use learning management systems (LMS), such as Moodle, Edmodo, Canvas, Schoology, Blackboard Learn, and others. When accessing these systems with their personal account, each student’s activity is recorded in a log file. Moodle system allows not only information sav-ing. The plugins of this LMS provide a fast and accurate analysis of training sta-tistics. Within the study, the capabilities of several Moodle plugins providing the assessment of students' activity and success are reviewed. The research is aimed at discovering possibilities to improve the learning process and reduce the num-ber of underperforming students. The activity logs of 124 participants are ana-lyzed to identify the relations between the number of logs during the e-course and the final grades. In the study, a correlation analysis is performed to determine the impact of students' educational activity in the Moodle system on the final assess-ment. The results reveal that gender affiliation correlates with the overall perfor-mance but does not affect the selection of training materials. Furthermore, it is shown that students who got the highest grades performed at least 210 logs dur-ing the course. It is noted that the prevailing part of students prefers to complete the tasks before the deadline. The study concludes that LMSs can be used to pre-dict students' success and stimulate better results during the study. The findings are proposed to be used in higher education institutions for early detection of stu-dents experiencing difficulties in a course.
... This approach is seen as the construction of the course which focused on progression in learning for a student. It is less stigmatizing for the student, and it allows the learner to develop his/her own potential [9].The competence approach also meets a need to make more practical training, in particular for a more effective employability [5], while , the knowledge approach would raise too little motivation from students. The competency-based approach is focused on students learning making them more autonomous. ...
This paper describes an overview of the ”information systems management” course implemented in Moodle platform. The course is prepared for FPJ faculty students by respecting the competency learning principle. To design the learner path, this work used the fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM) for finding the learners profiles. The goal is to construct a personal course depending on the competency for each students in the same platform. The student’s response to this work has been very positive and encourages to generalize this work for other courses.
