The monograph Invisible Harmony: Essays on Translation (and) Literature includes the views of numerous traductologists, linguists and translators who have contributed to the development of translation practice throughout history, testimonies of direct participants in the establishment, spread and reception of Hispanic American literature in Yugoslavia and Serbia, as well as the author’s personal experiences in the field of literary, dramatic, consecutive and simultaneous translation. The book consists of four parts: the first part has seven chapters, in which are presented theoretical reflections of dozens of authors, from Cervantes to contemporary Serbian writers, traductologists and translators; the second part, through five chapters, includes research on translators among Latin American writers from the 15th to the 21st century: Garcilaso de la Vega Inca, Andrés Bello, José María Heredia, Leopoldo Lugones, Alfonso Reyes, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, Julio Cortázar and Sergio Pitol, while Borges’ theory of translation, the reception of Spanish American literature in Yugoslavia and Serbia, the contribution of Isidora Sekulić and Branislav Prelević to our translated literature from Spanish, are presented in separate chapters. The topic of the third part is the translation of theatre plays, both through theoretical positions and on the examples of plays by Mario Vargas Llosa, and the staging of several plays translated by the author of this monograph. The last part contains a personal and professional translator’s and interpreter’s review of Prosefest, i.e. Latin American writers who were guests of that literary festival from 2013 to 2017: Zoé Valdés, Samanta Schweblin, Mario Vargas Llosa, Guillermo Martínez, Luisa Valenzuela and Santiago Roncagliolo.
