... The COVID-19 virus has just brought to light the technological problems experienced by teachers, who have realized how ICT became the only way to continue their teaching work (Gómez-Gerdel, 2020), often requiring (in many cases) considerable adjustments in terms of their practice (Colás-Bravo & Hernández-Portero, 2017;Sánchez et al., 2020). These adjustments would need to go even further, since they would require the empowerment of different forms of appropriating disciplinary contents (Caramés, 2019). ...

The article starts with the theoretical and empirical introduction, mentioning the role of ICT in teacher training, and proceeds with the methodological presentation of the general research and its design. The next section presents the results obtained, divided in two subsections - the biographical synopsis and the status and use of ICT in Teresa’s teaching and training practice. The conclusion, as allowed by Teresa’s narrative, closes the text. Objectives: The article belongs to a qualitative biographical-narrative research, which involves obtaining biographical testimonials from teachers/ researchers who train teachers with the help of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), to promote skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, cooperation, and communication, understood as essential for the development of comprehensive education, curricular sustainability, and participatory citizenship. Methodology: The research problem involves the determination of the importance and status associated to the use of ICT in the professional understanding and practice of the participants, according to biographical narratives: What importance and status do the participants associate to the use of ICT, in their understanding and practice of the teaching profession? The teachers’ professional biographies were reconstructed from the collected opinions and perceptions, providing answers to the research question. Results: Here, we report the biographical narrative of a university teacher/ researcher, under the pseudonym “Teresa”, who is dedicated to Mathematics education in teacher training. From her reconstructed biographical experience, we will highlight a close relationship to the theoretical and empirical contributions presented in the introduction, and to results previously obtained through our research.

... With regard to the musical education field, several studies show that a high percentage of teachers, although they think that ICT strengthens the teaching-learning process, still lack initial and permanent training regarding their use, therefore, although they have enough ICT resources in the classroom, they lack the necessary skills to use and to adapt them to their teaching methodology [3]. ...

In the last few years, the introduction and use of Information and Communication Technology (onwards ICT) in the classroom has been gradually increased, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (onwards STEM) areas. However, the use of ICT technology within the music classroom seems to have stalled in most cases, being relegated to making sound recordings and listening to music fragments. Thanks to the rise of the Maker movement, more and more teachers are interested in introducing new types of ICT in the classroom. In our case, we will show how we developed “The Musical Stairs” to teach the musical concept of pitch, through the creation of a project based in Arduino.

The paper is part of an investigation that uses qualitative biographical-narrative research procedures. Its main objective is to collect training experiences of Higher Education teachers and researchers in which the use of ICT is an important training tool, seen as contributing to the development of creativity, collaboration, cooperation and communication skills, in a holistic education perspective focused on curricular sustainability and its implications in terms of participatory citizenship. Here, it is studied the presence of ICT in the training of musical education teachers and how its inclusion can lead to the development of creativity through cooperative activities by analyzing Elena Riaño's teaching and research practice, in relevant coincidence with the referred theoretical and empirical contributions.
