The semi-arid region of the Northeast is strongly marked by climatic extremes such as high temperature and large space-time variability of precipitation, being of vital importance the knowledge of the behavior of these factors to potentiate agricultural production in the rainforest in the region. The objective of this study was to analyze the precipitation behavior of Águas Belas, Agreste de Pernambucano. In order to do so, historical rainfall data were used for the period from 1921 to 2014, totaling 93 years, followed by an evaluation of the data series on a monthly and / or annual scale, and subsequently adjusted a trend curve for observation of rainfall behavior. The data was manipulated in the Microsoft® Excel program. When analyzing the data, they showed that over the years a monthly average of 50 mm year-1, with the rainy months from March to July presenting a strong tendency, being its maximum in the month of May (99 mm year-1), and with periods of drought from September to January, with minimum events in the month of October (13 mm year-1). The local precipitation of Águas Belas municipality is susceptible to cyclical seasonal fluctuations every 17 hydrological years, with predominance of dry periods from September to January and rainy from March to July.

The aim of this study was to perform the agroclimatic zoning of crops of economic and cultural importance to indigenous communities that survive in the Brazilian semiarid northeast, considering three scenarios of precipitation obtained using the technique of quantile, in order to support the selection of favorable sites for these crops. Climatic data from 169 localities were used, of which 52 with a series above 30 years of observations. Based on climatic data of air average temperatures and rainfall according to dry, normal or rainy scenarios, climatic water balances were calculated, using Thornthwaite (1948) methodology. With the water balance data, the extrapolation to the entire area considered was made. Analyzing each rainfall scenario, it was observed that, in the dry scenario, all areas of indigenous reserves showed unsuitable climate due to marked water shortage bean crop; in the normal scenario, all areas were also classified with moderate suitability for cassava crop; and for the rainy scenario, all areas showed a very long rainy season for maize. © 2017, Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP. 1 ABSTRACT The fuzzy logic accepts infinite intermediate logical values between false and true. In view of this principle, a system based on fuzzy rules was established to provide the best management of Catasetum fimbriatum. For the input of the developed fuzzy system, temperature and shade variables were used, and for the output, the orchid vitality. The system may help orchid experts and amateurs to manage this species. " Low " (L), " Medium " (M) and " High " (H) were used as linguistic variables. The objective of the study was to develop a system based on fuzzy rules to improve management of the Catasetum fimbriatum species, as its production presents some difficulties, and it offers high added value.

A adubacao e uma pratica extremamente importante na melhoria da fertilidade do solo, possibilitando aumento no potencial produtivo da cultura da pitangueira. Objetivou-se avaliar o comportamento produtivo e a qualidade quimica de frutos de pitangueira, em solo fertilizando com humus e nitrogenio, em condicao de irrigacao com agua salina. O experimento foi conduzido em um pomar de pitangueira plantadas no espacamento de 2 x 4 m. Os tratamentos foram distribuidos em blocos ao acaso, com quatros repeticoes e uma planta por parcela, utilizando o arranjo fatorial 5 x 2, referentes a cinco niveis de humus (0; 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 e 10 L planta -1 ) e dois niveis de nitrogenio no solo, sem e com nitrogenio, aplicado na forma de ureia. Durante a colheita, os frutos foram contados e pesados para obtencao dos valores de producao e produtividade; no pico da colheita, foram separados, aleatoriamente, 100 frutos de cada planta em completo estagio de maturacao, determinando-se as seguintes caracteristicas quimicas: vitamina C, acidez titulavel e solidos soluveis totais. A fertilizacao com humus elevou a producao, produtividade e a qualidade quimica dos frutos, mas com superioridade nos tratamentos com a presenca de nitrogenio na forma de ureia. Os melhores resultados de producao e qualidade foram evidenciados nos tratamentos com a aplicacao de N combinado a dose de 7,5 litros de humus por planta.

This study aimed to realize the agroclimatic zoning of Jathopra curcas L. crop in the State of Pernambuco. For this, climatic data of air temperature and mean rainfall of 146 meteorological stations and 73 series with historical data over 30 years and another 73 with less than 30 years but more than 20 years of observations were used. The choice of Jatropha has been motivated by the potential of this crop as a source of renewable energy to replace fossil fuels as well as for its rusticity and a new option for regions of semi-arid climate, as it occurs in the Northeast region. The selection of the study area is related to climate variability in the State and the potential that this crop has in regions where there is low precipitation. According to the study, the State of Pernambuco has 14.92% of areas suitable for production of Jatropha, 44.26% of the restricted areas by water deficit, and 40.82% of unsuitable areas.

To know the weather from year to year is of great value to a proper agricultural planning. The study was conducted in the State of Pernambuco, with data basis of temperature and rainfall of at least 20 years of observations of 45 meteorological stations. The function of density probability of the incomplete gamma distribution was used to evaluate the occurrence of dry, normal and rainy years. The monthly climatic water balance was estimated by the method proposed by Thornthwaite and Mather (1955) and interpolation of data for the plot was made using the Kriging method. The results indicated that the highest rainfall occurred in the Zone da Mata in the south of the State with around 2800 mm year-1. The water excess presented its highest levels in the Zona da Mata mesoregion with availability of nearly 1200 mm year-1 for the rainy years and water deficit was higher in the Sertão Mesoregion of Sertão of San Francisco reaching 1000 mm year-1 , being required full irrigation for the crops.

Knowing the annual climatic conditions is of great importance for appropriate planning in agriculture. However, the systems of climatic classification are not widely used in agricultural studies because of the wide range of scales in which they are used. A series with data from 20 years of observations from 45 climatological stations in all over the state of Pernambuco was used. The probability density function of the incomplete gamma distribution was used to evaluate the occurrence of dry, regular and rainy years. The monthly climatic water balance was estimated using the Thornthwaite and Mather method (1955), and based on those findings, the climatic classifications were performed using the Thornthwaite (1948) and Thornthwaite and Mather (1955) for each site. The method of Kriging interpolation was used for the spatialization of the results. The study classifications were very sensitive to the local reliefs, to the amount of rainfall, and to the temperatures of the regions resulting in a wide number of climatic types. The climatic classification system of Thornthwaite and Mather (1955) allowed efficient classification of climates and a clearer summary of the information provided. In so doing, it demonstrated its capability to determine agro climatic zones.
