Exploring changes in the duration and timing of extreme dry and wet spells. The map shows the location of the rain gauges considered in this study derived from a consistent dataset: the Global Historical Climatology Network Daily (GHCN-Daily) [35]. The entire network plotted covers the period 1958–2018, gauges in red denote data completeness of 90% (maximum 10% missing data) and were used in the trend analyses.
