... In response to market needs and to ongoing technological and legislative developments, the European Research Area has promoted several research projects in the field of energy savings in buildings (starting from PASSYS Project in 1985, PASSYS II, COM-PASS, PASCOOL and so on). Among these, it has been created the PASLINK EEIG, European Economic Interest Grouping of Outdoor Test Centres, focused on the maintenance of specialized research infrastructure of outdoor test facilities for evaluation of the thermal and solar performance of building components, by including procedure for performance assessment (calibration of instrumentation, data processing and simulation methods) in European climates [43,44]. The PASLINK EEIG network for outdoor test centers has changed its legal position in 2009 and has become an integrated network under INIVE EEIG -International Network for Information on Ventilation and Energy Performance, created with the scope to collect, manage and make available new useful knowledge about these fields, with a focus on building energy-performance regulations [45]. ...
