... Szécsény-Ültetés, excavation was carried out on only a small part of the site, but yielded a rich assemblage of finds, including a high pro- portion of decorated fine wares (Fig. 3), pottery fragments with anthro- pomorphic and zoomorphic depictions (Fig. 4, 5), and human face pots, which presumably had a special role in Neolithic culture and ideology (Fig. 6). 22 The import wares include large quantities of Bükk, Szakálhát, Szilmeg and Esztár-style ceramic ware, in addition to several sherds in- dicating even ...

The main aim of this study was to introduce HVA1 gene into Catharanthus roseus callus by using PDS (Particle delivery system). In vitro seed germination of C. roseus was achieved using vigor seeds. The shootlets induction medium was MS containing 2.0 mg/l benzyl aminopurine l −1. Somatic embryogenesis was obtained by culturing various parts of expl...

Polymer composites are increasingly replacing metals in structures such as gears, wheels, clutches, housings, bushings and other areas where tribology is of great importance. Various ways are used to improve the tribological behaviour of neat polymers, and the most familiar method is the incorporation of fibres/fillers in the polymer to produce com...

This study assessed degradation status of erosion devastated soils as well as ameliorative measures on such soils. Field sampling was aided by morphological landscape changes. Surface samples (0-20 cm) depth were randomly collected from two erosion units and used in conducting a greenhouse experiment using maize (Zea mays L.) as a test crop. The ex...

... There it was found that the Ipoly and Zagyva rivers served as important transport routes in the Early Neolithic. Ceramic and stone materials from Szécsény-Ültetés and several other investigated sites in the region indicate exchange with groups to the east, west and south, including Bükk, LBK, Vinča and Szakálhát (Fábián et al., 2016). ...

The paper presents a comprehensive analysis of pottery and lithic materials found in archaeological features associated with an Early Neolithic house from Biskupice (southern Poland) to shed light on exchange networks of the first farmers in Central Europe. The combination of microscopic examinations and lipid residues analysis was utilised to study the link between the physical properties and function of the vessels. Finally, the archaeological context of other artifacts from the same house, including lithic assemblages, was investigated to determine the presence of both local and imported raw materials in Biskupice. The main conclusion of the study indicates local production of pottery, including the face vessel, and lithic implements. Conversely, a Transcarpathian transfer of some technological and decorative ideas, as well as imports of raw material such as obsidian, were confirmed.
