This scoping review article is a systematic literature review focusing on 'leadership in project management' with the aim of enabling future researchers to achieve a better understanding of main foci and topics of state-of-the-art studies, areas requiring further research, and/or limitations and blank or less studied subjects. To do so, we employed...

... Since leadership competency has a direct impact on project success (Fard et al., 2020), organisations need to ensure that the most senior role in charge of project delivery has advanced leadership skills. PMI (2021, p.41) distinguishes between project leadership and authority. ...

This study explores the role of the Chief Project Officer, their influence on successful project delivery, and the skills and services associated with the role. It is the first study on the topic and provides significance for both practice and research. The PRISMA process was used to search and select relevant sources for the literature review. Following the application of selection criteria, participants were solicited through LinkedIn which resulted in 67 Chief Project Officers from 39 countries participating in the study. A survey instrument was used to collect data which contained both open and closed-ended questions. The responses were analysed and interpreted to reveal patterns and themes, and this process was also aided through the use of NVivo software. The findings revealed that while Chief Project Officers exhibit similar skills and attributes of other senior project leaders, such as leadership, communication, and negotiation, they are distinguished by their membership of the executive leadership team, accountability for aligning organisation strategy with project execution, high project success rate, and significant project, program, and portfolio management knowledge and skills. Organisations will increasingly rely on Chief Project Officers to successfully deliver their products and services through project execution. They will be a trusted partner of the CEO and other c-suite executives as they assume accountability and leadership for all project-related activity within the organisation. Future researchers can build upon the foundations of this study to explore in more depth the working lives of Chief Project Officers and their influence on organisational success.
... On the other hand, the proposed approach of combining two neural networks and utilizing features associated with post comments and social network characteristics has yielded optimal accuracy. In the study [25], researchers encountered the challenge of lacking a unified definition for the concept of non-rumor, which influenced the effectiveness of identifying rumors through binary classification. To address this issue, they approached the problem from the perspective of One-Class Classification. ...

Social networks have significantly impacted people’s lifestyles, providing a crucial platform for communication and information sharing that can engage millions of users within seconds. While social media offers positive influences on lives and relationships, it also fosters the spread of rumors, resulting in adverse effects such as loss of reputation, credibility, and health. This paper introduces a novel algorithm based on long short-term memory and recurrent neural networks (LSTM-RNN) for detecting rumors on Twitter. The proposed algorithm’s performance is evaluated through extensive simulations using the AUG-RNR-DATA dataset, which includes both rumor and non-rumor tweets from six distinct events. The simulation results demonstrate that our algorithm surpasses the baseline methods, achieving a 0.95 accuracy in distinguishing between rumors and non-rumors on the AUG-RNR-DATA dataset.

... Furthermore, project leadership is essential in project management because it is necessary to ensure that project management processes run smoothly [5][6][7]. In an effort to establish the importance of project leadership in project management, project leadership has been linked to project team effectiveness [8,9], organisational innovativeness [10][11][12], job satisfaction [13], the success of change initiatives [14], work motivation and employee performance [15], project performance and success [16][17][18][19][20], and the subordinate's job attitudes and job outcomes [21,22]. These studies have captured the leadership element of project managers and revealed project leadership as an essential aspect of project management. ...

Individuals and their leadership competencies have been the sole focus of project leadership research, rather than the project leadership’s behaviour and functions in project and organisational settings. As a result, this study investigates the project leadership functions and behaviours required for various project and organisational situations in order to propose a project leadership model that will be effective in all project and organisational situations. The model that was developed and tested in this study theorised about the project leadership function that project leaders are expected to perform as a result of their positions. It also described how project leaders could tailor their leadership functions and behaviours to address issues related to positions, organisational situations, and project situations. Three hypotheses were developed and tested using structural equation modelling to validate the model. The model’s perceptive power demonstrates adequate validity. The model’s validity implies that there are appropriate project leadership functions for different leadership levels and circumstances. The model’s validity also implies that each project leadership behaviour has its own value, as conditions and necessities dictate. The study assumes that a project leader can embrace project leadership by combining a few different project leadership functions and behaviours.

... For example, IT projects very often need business process reengineering, but with no assurance from senior leadership, the roles of internal and external project stakeholders are impacted, which leads to project failures. Visible top management commitment demonstrates other senior managers within the organisation on the criticality of the work to be done in projects, and encourages them to take required appropriate decision, for example, any schedule or budget-related changes required in projects (Fard et al., 2020;Ifinedo and Nahar, 2006;Davenport, 2001). ...
