Purpose: This research highlights the interconnection among psychological contract breach, self-efficacy, abusive supervision, financial wellbeing and servant leadership as a mediator that are extensively studied in global contexts. This study provides substantial empirical evidence by examining the interaction of these variables within the distinctive workplace dynamics of a developing country. Moreover, it aims to offer evidence-based strategies to improve workplace wellness, boost productivity, and enhance employee satisfaction through servant leadership. Design/Methodology/Approach: Smart PLS 4 was utilised for Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to analyse the theoretical pathways and interactions among the variables, whereas SPSS Statistics was employed to produce demographic data and descriptive statistics. A total of 450 replies were gathered, of which 68 were classified as offensive or outliers and therefore excluded using SPSS Findings: The results shows that psychological contract breach, financial well-being and abusive supervision have significantly negative impact on life satisfaction while self-efficacy shows positive and significant impact. The findings shows that servant leadership is positively, significantly and partially mediates the relation between these variables. Implications/Originality/Value: It is found that all the variable except self-efficacy have negative and significant relationship with life satisfaction in absence of servant leadership. Therefore, servant leadership found to play pivotal mediating role in the study for employee wellbeing and life satisfaction.

Purpose Social media usage has been documented to affect the psychological well-being of its users. This study aims to examine how social media overload influences cognitive fatigue among individuals in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach This study employed a comprehensive research framework based on the stressor-strain-outcome (SSO) model to examine how perceived overload affects social media cognitive fatigue through emotional exhaustion and anxiety. Survey data were gathered from 451 social media users in Malaysia, and data analysis was performed using PLS-SEM. Findings The findings revealed that information overload, communication overload and interruption overload are antecedents of emotional exhaustion. Communication overload, interruption overload and cognitive overload were identified as antecedents of anxiety, while emotional exhaustion and anxiety were confirmed as predictors of social media cognitive fatigue. However, pathway analysis indicated no relationship between emotional exhaustion and anxiety. Originality/value Our study contributes to the literature on media technology and media psychology by examining the psychological mechanisms (emotional exhaustion and anxiety). The findings offer implications for service providers, practitioners and social media users, as they facilitate measures and strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of social media while elevating psychological well-being.

This study aims to investigate the effects of psychological contract breach, self-efficacy, mental health, and abusive supervision on employee life satisfaction. Additionally, it examines how work engagement and job satisfaction mediate these effects. Analyzing data from 380 corporate employees in Bangladesh, a survey methodology was employed to test the claimed associations using structural equation modeling (SEM). Self-efficacy and mental health boost work, life, and job satisfaction. Unsurprisingly, abusive supervision and psychological contract breaches do not affect work engagement. Work engagement and job satisfaction affect psychological contract breach, self-efficacy, mental health, abusive supervision, and life satisfaction. By examining how psychological contract breach, self-efficacy, mental health, and abusive supervision affect employee life satisfaction, this study advances understanding level. The study investigates these factors in a developing country’s corporate sector. Employees’ work engagement, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction can be improved by improving self-efficacy, mental health, and psychological contract breaches. Background Emergency personnel are the first line of emergency response systems to respond to emergencies; in essence, they are usually exposed to a wide range of physical and psychological problems. Accordingly, the current study aimed to clarify the lived experiences of paramedics when exposed to Patients’ Deaths during their missions in 2023. Methods This study was carried out using a qualitative approach and interpretative phenomenology from January 9, 2022, to September 21, 2023. The research was performed in Fars, Alborz, and Isfahan provinces in Iran. Data were gathered using semi-structured interviews with 17 male emergency personnel (both from the emergency medical service and Red Crescent). The obtained data were analyzed utilizing Smith’s approach to clarify the lived experiences of emergency responders when facing deaths in various incidents in Iran. Results Seventeen emergency personnel with the age range of 24–60 (average = 39) years and with a history of confronting patients’ deaths during their services were interviewed. Their lived experiences of being exposed to patients’ deaths during the emergency response in Iran were classified into three main themes: psychological and emotional status, personality, disposition, and behavior status, and mental and physical status. Sub-themes such as psychological and emotional problems, mental and physical problems, and sub-subthemes such as anxiety, stress, decreased appetite, irritability, insomnia, forgetfulness, and fatigue were also noted within the main themes. Conclusion While emergency personnel work diligently to save the lives of patients, the current study demonstrated that they were susceptible to multiple psychological, emotional, and physical problems, which potentially affect their lives outside of the workplace and make them more vulnerable to related physiological and psychological diseases. It is recommended that policymakers and clinical educators make ways to prevent these problems and provide emergency personnel with physical, psychological, and emotional support.
