... contractor of the 1953 addition, Webb had come to know Martin Stern and respected his work. When Prell again hired the architect in 1959 to design the 14-story, 200-room Tunis Tower southeast of the pool, Webb once more worked with Stern as general contractor. Webb's purchase of the Sahara only cemented the bond, and led to Stern's selection in 1961 to design the Mint Hotel Tower and the proposed 24-story, 400-room at the Sahara.
