The Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed how devices communicate and interact, making daily life more connected and efficient. However, as IoT adoption increases, so do security risks. IoT devices are a target for cybercriminals who want to steal data, control operations, and disrupt services. This research examines the major security issues th...
This study investigates the challenges of implementing information security governance across countries. Initial analysis was carried out from cases in Indonesian organizations. Using Kitchenham’s systematic literature review to identify challenges and information security governance expert interviews to validate the result, the research analyzes t...

... While some researchers emphasize the importance of technological knowledge and human errors [5], others emphasize the possibilities of e-learning education on information security [6]. Research by [5] pointed out that technological security solutions are crucial, while human error and lack of awareness often serve as the weakest link in computer systems. ...
... A group of authors investigated the relationship between e-learning engagement, cybersecurity awareness and practices [6]. The research highlighted the need to consider demographic factors such as gender and experience level when designing cybersecurity protocols for online learners. ...
The number of cyberthreats worldwide is rising steadily each year. Both the public and private sectors are vulnerable to cyberthreats, and especially state services in the public sector are impacted. This is particularly noticeable in educational institutions. Their computer systems are generally unsecured, and hackers view them as valuable sources of confidential information. Since not every computer user has the same level of information security knowledge, the purpose of this research is to examine students’ awareness of information security. The authors carried out a targeted investigation in which the knowledge of potential risks and security precautions of 111 undergraduate students of Information Sciences at the University of Mostar were assessed. A survey and the ensuing quantitative and qualitative analyses served as the foundation for this study. The findings shed light on the existing knowledge levels of undergraduate students and their information security awareness. This also highlights subjects that should be covered in lifelong learning exercises to improve comprehension of possible dangers and suitable protection methods.
... Hence, students are faced with online threats consistently and are required to display security proactive behavior when faced with these frequent online threats (Leekitchwatana et al., 2018;He & Chen, 2024;Wang et al., 2024). This is all the more critical in the Southeast Asian context, whereby rapid adoption of technology advances is not in tandem with digital literacy or the availability of structured cybersecurity training (Bruce et al., 2024;Oroni et al., 2025). ...
... Despite the growing body of global literature on CSA, most studies do not consider the cultural, technological, and pedagogical nuances that influence cybersecurity awareness in Southeast Asia's education systems (Oroni et al., 2025). Few draw on the interplay between regional frameworks, such as KAP, and international standards, such as NIST, when adopting a global benchmark within a national educational context. ...
