This article aims to provide ten practical tips for integrating environmental education (EE) into language learning materials. It emphasizes how language shapes environmental perspectives, and it encourages incorporating traditional, indigenous, and ecocentric voices. The tips include offering positive examples, valuing individual and collective actions, addressing food production’s impact, and checking that environmental elements are not erased. It highlights the importance of Multiple Intelligences Theory, local connections, critical thinking, and collaboration with like-minded individuals. It is expected that by applying these strategies, educators can create more meaningful language materials that enhance environmental education and inspire sustainable actions.
... Additionally, environmental awareness enhances consumers' self-efficacy, influencing their perceived behavioral control [46]. Environmentally conscious consumers often exhibit strong confidence in their ability to engage in environmentally friendly behaviors, believing that their choices can positively impact the environment [47]. In the context of sustainable sports products, this confidence manifests as a belief that choosing eco-friendly sports products both upholds environmental principles and contributes tangibly to environmental protection. ...

(1) Background: With the growing severity of global environmental issues and increasing consumer health consciousness, green consumption has become a prominent focus in both research and practice. However, studies on the mechanisms of health consciousness and environmental awareness influencing the purchase intentions of sports enthusiasts toward sustainable sports products remain relatively limited. This study investigates how health consciousness and environmental awareness impact the green consumption behavior of sports enthusiasts through psychological pathways, including attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control, aiming to reveal their underlying mechanisms. (2) Methods: Based on the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study developed a theoretical model incorporating health consciousness and environmental awareness. Data were collected via a questionnaire survey, yielding 407 valid responses. The sample was gender-balanced (52.8% male, 47.2% female), predominantly consisting of young individuals aged 26–35 (44.7%) and 18–25 (28.0%), with primary occupations being company employees/managers (46.2%) and students/teachers (25.3%). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software to systematically evaluate the research hypotheses and the model’s applicability. (3) Results: The model exhibited excellent fit indices, with a χ²/df value of 2.129, an RMSEA value of 0.053, an RMR value of 0.029, and GFI, CFI, NFI, and NNFI values all exceeding 0.90, indicating that the model structure adequately explained the relationships among latent variables. All research hypotheses were significantly supported (p < 0.01), demonstrating that health consciousness and environmental awareness not only directly influence purchase intentions but also exert significant indirect effects through attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. (4) Conclusions: Health consciousness and environmental awareness are critical drivers of sports enthusiasts’ purchasing behavior for sustainable sports products. This study deepens the understanding of the mechanisms underlying green consumption behavior and offers practical implications for related businesses. Companies should enhance product healthiness and environmental friendliness while optimizing consumer psychological perceptions to increase purchase intentions.
... This response illustrates a limited understanding of how to convert waste into energy, showing that students defaulted to simpler solutions due to limited practical knowledge of biogas and waste-based energy production. These findings align with prior research, suggesting that students' actions are often contingent on their baseline knowledge and education level (Michael et al., 2024;Moody-Marshall, 2023;Srisathan et al., 2024). Furthermore, practical, action-oriented behaviors often require group dynamics or peer influence to spur individual efforts. ...

Waste management is a significant issue in Indonesia, and awareness and actions across all sectors, including school students, play a critical role. This study investigates the impact of educational interventions on students' awareness and actions regarding waste management and its potential as a source of environmentally friendly energy. The research used a quasi-experimental design, specifically a non-equivalent control group, involving a sample of 44 tenth-grade students in Bandung who were studying environmental change. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, and data were gathered via a questionnaire. Results indicate that the intervention significantly improved students' awareness of utilizing waste as an eco-friendly energy source (p = 0.009 < α = 0.05), although it did not significantly influence their actions to apply this knowledge (p = 0.201 > α = 0.05). This study provides an initial perspective on the potential of STEM-ESD project-based learning to enhance students' awareness and practical engagement in sustainable waste management practices.
... Although more positive 'general' environmental attitudes have been linked to specific proenvironmental behavioural intentions [37] and behaviours [22,26,28,[38][39][40], this relationship is not always observed [26,41]. Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) seeks to explain how people react in the face of a perceived threat and assumes that behaviour is a function of motivation to behave in a way that mitigates a perceived threat (taking account of and individual's threat appraisal and coping appraisal) [42,43]. ...

Citizens play a crucial role in attaining the United Nations 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs). There is growing awareness of the importance of understanding citizen perspectives on environmental issues, in relation to developing and maintaining sustainable lifestyles, and in addressing perceived threats to protection and restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity. This analysis sought to understand people’s attitudes towards environmental conservation, how they relate to perceived threats to the countryside, and to determine how attitudes and perceived threats vary demographically and between countries. A survey was administered to citizens (quota sampled on age, gender, education, and split between rural and urban residency) across five countries representative of differing biogeographical regions (N = 3,190): Czech Republic (n = 649) (Continental); Spain (Mediterranean) (n = 623); Sweden (Boreal) (n = 645); Switzerland (Alpine) (n = 641); United Kingdom (UK) (Atlantic) (n = 632). Attitudes were measured using the Environmental Attitudes Inventory (EAI-24) on 2 factors (utilization; preservation) and perceived threat to the countryside on 1-factor (15 items). Multigroup regression analysis indicated that preservationist attitudes were associated with greater perceived threat to the countryside in all five countries. Higher perceived threat was associated with activities linked to environmental degradation, socio-economic uncertainty and risks in agri-food supply chains in all countries. The “bad behaviour of visitors” was the greatest perceived threat in the Czech Republic, Switzerland and the UK, while “lack of young farmers taking over farming” was the greatest perceived threat in Spain and Sweden. To promote pro-environmental attitudes and obtain greater public support for policies and interventions targeting environmental conservation, communication about environmental threats is needed, together with threat mitigation measures. Raising peoples’ awareness of threats to the countryside through targeted communications could promote pro-environment attitudes and potentially result in pro-environmental behaviours.

Sustainable development goal (SDG) #15 is the major challenge for biodiversity conservation tourism marketing to ensure sustainability. To answer this, tourism marketing must provide solutions by creating tourists’ awareness and behavior toward a pro-environment. This study aimed to analyze the influence of perceived sustainability (PS) and biodiversity knowledge (BK) on environmental awareness (EA) and pro-environmental behavior (PEB) in the context of biodiversity sustainability. Method: Quantitative analysis was performed using PLS-SEM. The results of this study showed that PS and BK significantly affected EA and PEB. Similarly, EA also had a significant effect on PEB. Novelty: Provide a new paradigm for conservation tourism marketing to instill awareness and create behavior towards biodiversity sustainability in tourists. This study significantly contributes to theory building in green tourism marketing and provides solutions to SDG#15 (life on land) to create sustainability of terrestrial ecosystems and stop the decline in biodiversity loss. This study also provides strong implications for researchers and academics in building research models to meet the demands of stakeholders to instill awareness and pro-environmental behavior in tourists while improving economic performance. The implication for economic actors in the tourism business is to develop the concept of sustainability of tourist attractions by providing information related to sustainability. Likewise, the government is a business facilitator that accelerates the achievement of the SDGs.
