... Stakeholders, other from providing financial support, have a significant impact on the success of an event by offering diverse perspectives (Getz & Page, 2016;Todd et al., 2017;Wallace & Michopoulou, 2021). The power distance factor, or unique cultural values, does really influence the relationship connection among the main stakeholders (Abdullah et al. 2014). Thus, collaborative marketing has been proven to be advantageous in including stakeholders and achieving common objectives (Varadarajan & Cunningham, 1995). ...
... In the country with high power-distance (N. H. Abdullah et al. 2014;Zainuddin, Ismail, and Sapiei 2013), Malaysia's employees prefer their leader to impose clear guideline in performing tasks, and provide motivation and coaching towards workers (Shima et al. 2008). Furthermore, in Malaysia's organisational culture, reciprocity is a critical component of the leader-member interaction, where employees can return superiors' concern by following their leaders' directions (Tajaddini and Mujtaba 2009;Zulkifly 2020). ...

.Most of the accident cases at work are caused by unsafe behaviour. Scholars have thus extensively researched factors of safe behavior.Safety leadership is stated as the most effective factor in safety behaviour. Besides, safety knowledge and safety attitudes are also found to influence safety behaviour. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the nature of the relationship between safety leadership, safety knowledge, safety attitude, and safety behavior, which has been found to be limited or rare in previous research.A self-administered questionnaire was applied and was distributed randomly to 140 SME manufacturing workers and they were analysed using the structural equation modelling partial least squares (PLS-SEM). The results prove that safety leadership has a significant effect on safety knowledge, safety attitude, and safety behaviour, with safety knowledge and safety attitude mediating the safety leadership-safety behaviour relationship. Consequently, the results provide a more in-depth view of the relationship between safety leadership and safety knowledge-attitude-behaviour via adapting social-cognitive theory and social learning theory in solving safety issues in SME. This study also provides a starting point for researchers to better understand how effective safety leadership is provided by supervisors in terms of improving worker safety and safety knowledge-attitude-behaviour.
... Furthermore, communities with higher power distance orientation have a greater tendency to rely on leaders, in this case festival management, to take important decisions regarding planning and development. Abdullah, Hassan, Ali, Karim, and Ab (2014) note that in a high power distance settings, local community has less opportunity to be empowered by festival benefits as the community is less involved and engaged in the organizational decision making processes. On the contrary, it is expected that lower power distance communities will perceive more benefits from the festival if wealth, status or authority of the festival organization is more equality distributed among all members of society. ...

There is growing interest among academics in examining the impacts of festivals on host communities. This paper constitutes novel research in that it applies the Festival Social Impact Attitude Scale (FSIAS) to two large-scale music festivals of Exit (Serbia) and Sziget (Hungary). Furthermore, it explores the moderating effect of Hofstede's national cultural dimensions on residents' perception of the impacts of these festivals on their communities. The study identifies the underlying dimensions of their social impacts and reveals how the cultural dimensions of the two different nations relate to resident perception of the impacts of the festivals. The results reveal a six-factorial substructure that represents two main (positive and negative) dimensions of large-scale music festivals and suggests that national culture significantly influences local perception of festival impacts on communities. The study concludes with the theoretical and practical implications of the study and advances future lines of research.

This chapter will explore some of the issues in implementing interprofessional education (IPE) in Malaysia, focusing on the state of Sabah. These issues include a traditionally hierarchical society and highly centralised education and health care sectors. IPE has not previously been prioritised because it is not part of the accreditation criteria for nursing or medicine. A form of IPE has been introduced as an extracurricular component, rather than part of the core curriculum. Nursing and medical students have practised together for joint community work, without calling it IPE and with no specific evaluation related to IPE. This chapter explores how a distributed leadership approach, and a seminal event experienced by a faculty leader, contributed to the introduction of IPE in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

This paper discusses on how netnography can be applied to gain an understanding on sensitive research topic in a high power distance culture. The study investigated the frustrations among practitioners in incorporating the User Experience Design (UXD) in software development process. Netnography has been applied to uncover the unspoken behaviors of stakeholders and attitudes of clients who disrespect designers that reflects the UX practitioners frustration on the stakeholiders' politics. This findings will be useful in seeking a solution to improve the UXD process. From this work it can be concluded that netnography can be a suitable approach to gain deeper insights into understanding practitioner's frustrations in UX research study.
