... Moreover, the previous recommendation may aim not only at reducing knowledge hiding, but also prompting knowledge sharing. Raising the levels of knowledge sharing in an organization will enable the stakeholders and team to harvest multiple benefits, such as innovation [73] or task performance [74,75]. Thus, given that work teams are more and more diverse, knowledge sharing may offer a way to integrate goals and positive social interaction towards higher performance both in intra-organizational settings [74] and inter-organizational settings [76]. ...

Knowledge hiding—an intentional attempt to withhold or conceal knowledge from others—has been reported by recent studies to be a negative phenomenon in the workplace. Considering the importance of knowledge for organizational performance, this study intends to advance understanding by investigating the mediating role of knowledge hiding on the relationship between perceived organizational support and affective commitment as predictors and organizational citizenship behaviors and turnover intentions as outcomes. Using a cross-sectional design, the study was conducted in emergency ambulance healthcare settings on 305 medical or paramedical professionals. As indicated by structural equation modeling results, perceived organizational support and affective commitment positively predicted organizational citizenship behaviors but negatively predicted turnover intentions. Also, knowledge hiding was negatively associated with perceived organizational support, affective commitment, and organizational citizenship behaviors and positively with turnover intentions. Moreover, knowledge hiding mediated the relationship between perceived organizational support and affective commitment as predictors and organizational citizenship behaviors, respectively turnover intentions, as dependent variables.
... In KS literature, the most used theory with a motivation theory is social capital theory. Social capital has been theoretically framed as the aggregate of assets/resources encapsulated in the network of social relationships among social participants (Tsai and Ghoshal, 1998;Nahapiet and Ghoshal, 1998;Thomas et al., 2021). It is viewed as a valuable asset that encourages reforms by enabling a closer interpersonal relationship between individuals and incorporates a range of incentives for social participants, ranging from people to organization (Gupta and Thomas, 2019; Thomas and Paul, 2019). ...
Purpose-The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the role of motivation in facilitating knowledge sharing (KS). This study explains the connection between "motivation" and "knowledge sharing" or KS. Research finding offers significant theoretical and practical suggestions. Theoretically, the study provides clarity on various motivation theories and important constructs in KS. Design/methodology/approach-This research reviews the literature on knowledge management in detail along with other published works. A search was conducted using online databases on the Web of Science (WoS) and Google Scholar. An analysis was done with the help of qualitative software NVivo 12 to critically analyze literature. Findings-This theoretical review offers a retrospective view of theories, context, methods, antecedents or enablers to understand the motivation theories used in knowledge sharing research and provides a guideline for upcoming researches to contemplate and examine numerous motivation theories and also choose the most significant motivation theory and their construct in the researches on KS. Originality/value-This theoretical review contributes toward knowledge sharing and motivation literature. There are no reviews on knowledge sharing relating to contemporary motivational theories to the best of our knowledge.
A lack of cultural intelligence (CQ) creates a lack of trust in global virtual teams (GVTs). Study findings examine how leaders demonstrate CQ, trust in GVTs, and provide strategies for organizations. This qualitative single-case study explores how leaders of US-based GVTs in the financial industry demonstrate CQ and trust and strategies to develop trust. This study applies the social interaction theory, uncovering group identity and behaviors. Participants included GVT members and leaders having at least 1 year of experience on a GVT. The emerging themes were demonstrating CQ, demonstrating trust, and strategies to build trust.
Green innovation (GI) refers to an invention that simultaneously benefits the environment and customers. Academics and policymakers have recently focused on GI to understand how innovation and sustainability interact. Indeed, governments and non-governmental organizations pressure businesses to abandon “traditional environmentally harmful products” in favor of green products (GPI) and green process innovations (GPrI). GI research has attracted the attention of many scholars, adopting diverse perspectives, but there has been a lack of publications on the green process and green product innovation (GPI) together. In this way, the current study conducts a literature review and bibliometric analysis to evaluate the “literary corpus” on GI and its various forms. The research provides a comprehensive understanding of GI's various determinants and outcomes. Managers and policymakers can also benefit from the most recent research findings to gain a better understanding of key determinants and outcomes.
In development, social, and management theories, universities have gained increasing relevance as engines of growth and innovation. Alongside companies, universities engage in a collaborative exploration for a shared knowledge base that does not pursue immediate exploitation. Drawing on research evaluation and the regional and entrepreneurial studies on University-Industry Collaborations (UICs) and knowledge ecosystems, this article assesses the digital training partnerships the University of Naples in Italy has established with some global technology and advanced manufacturing companies. By examining their innovative performance, the case study evaluation explores university-business ‘productive interactions,’ highlighting such critical issues as the management and risks of co-innovation, the attraction of talents, and the development of human capital in a peripheral and moderate innovative region. The article critically discusses the regional development outcomes and the evaluation designs to assess the societal impact of university research and education.
Open Innovation (OI) is significant in progressed and improving conditions from coronavirus consequences. The COVID pandemic has brought many alterations in innovation and surroundings with OI. It is difficult to determine the long-term influence of COVID-19. It has a direct impact on large, small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This research aims to show how the association of university and research can help both organizations and SMEs. COVID-19 helps in the business association between well-settled organizations and start-ups in difficult business surroundings. This research also shows joint insights and helps in fulfilling the needs of academicians, professionals and decision-makers as an important procedure during the pandemic.
Information technology is the most innovative and fastest-growing industry in the world. In this context, this paper aims to discover the mediating role of innovation capability on the dimensions of strategic orientations and its outcomes in the performance of information technology firms in India. Moreover, it also explains the relevance of adopting innovative endeavours by high-tech information technology firms. The data is collected through the questionnaire. The study finds that innovation capability plays a predominant role in enhancing entrepreneurial and technological orientation behaviours to lead efficacious performance firms. In contrast, marketing orientation does not augment its long-term growth even in the presence of intervening variables of innovation capability in information technology. The outcome of this study helps in fostering a culture for innovation while considering the dynamics of the interactions in the dimensions of a firm’s strategic orientation behaviours for realizing superiority in its performance for success.
Purpose
The purpose of this bibliometric and systematic literature review is to survey and evaluate key study’s in tacit knowledge (TK). Through analysing and synthesizing based on the antecedents, decisions, outcomes-theories, context and methods (ADO-TCM) framework, this paper highlights research gaps and avenues for future research. It is important to recognize the antecedents, results and theories in the available literature as it offers enough evidence for encouraging the significance of TK.
Design/methodology/approach
This research paper follows a bibliometric analysis and systematic approach in identifying, analyzing and synthesizing pertinent literature in TK. A total of 59 research studies were carefully and systematically reviewed with the help of NVivo12 and excel software to code and analyse.
Findings
With the help of bibliometric analysis and framework-based systematic review, this research paper offers a retrospective view of the TCM framework in the amalgamation with ADO framework, bibliometric analysis and important themes of TK research.
Originality/value
This paper is different from existing reviews as the authors have to combine bibliometric analysis and framework-based systematic review approach to provide a more robust encapsulation of TK research. To the best of the knowledge, the present research is one of the first systematic reviews based on a framework relating to TK.
A person’s financial well-being (FWB) is the complete contentment gained from one’s present financial condition. This has a powerful impact on the entire achievement of an employee’s “well-being.” Researchers, financial analysts, financial planners, educationists, and economists have explored the “enablers” to improve employees’ living standards by investigating the possible “FWB” resources for decades. There is no literature available to show the connection between social capital theory, social exchange theory (SET), social cognitive theory (SCT), financial literacy and FWB, and employees’ financial knowledge sharing a moderator to expand the complete FWB.
