Abstrak: Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menerapkan ilmu teknologi persuasif pada pendingin ruangan (AC) dalam mendorong perilaku hemat energi bagi masyarakat Indonesia yang berbudaya kolektivistik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sebuah remote controller AC yang terintegrasi dengan komputer dan membuat animasi memakai pendekatan teknologi persuasif yang dapat memberikan beberapa umpan balik (feedback) kepada pengguna. Feedback ini berupa feedback sosial berupa animasi yang mewakili sosok sosial. Simulasi ini juga dapat menghitung skor konsumsi energi dari kombinasi temperatur yang dipilih. Pada penelitian ini kami berhasil membuat sebuah simulasi remote controller AC yang dapat berkomunikasi dengan komputer beranimasi. Animasi ini dapat memberikan umpan balik sosial positif dan negatif. Kata kunci: teknologi persuasif, hemat energi, ramah lingkungan, feedback sosial, animasi. Abstract : The present study aimed at applying persuasive technology to the air conditioning device in order to promote energy conservation behavior for the Indonesian, whose culture is collectivistic. The main purposes of the study were to design an AC remote controller integrated to a computer and to create animation by applying persuasive technology. The animation should be able to deliver social feedbacks to the audience and to compute energy consumption scores based on the chosen room temperature. Result shows that the design is successfully created and the animation is able to respond correctly with the corresponding positive or negative feedback in accordance to the chosen temperature.
