We show how through an instrumented R&D sequence in classical Analytic Geometry, new mathematical knowledge can be built, and an important mathematical extension of the curriculum is achieved. The cognitive spiral is described, together with the enhancement of new operative knowledge.

Mechanical systems in motion type parallel structures are solid, fast and accurate. Between mobile systems parallel the best known and used system is that of a Stewart platform, as being and the oldest system, quickly, solid and accurate. The paper presents a few main elements of the Stewart platforms. In the case where a motto element consists of...
This paper develops a theory of analytic geometry over the field with one element. The approach used is the analytic counter-part of the Toen-Vaquie theory of schemes over F_1, i.e. the base category relative to which we work out our theory is the category of sets endowed with norms (or families of norms). Base change functors to analytic spaces ov...
We present a general formula that transforms any conic of the form Ax2+Bxy+Cy2+Dx+Ey+F=0, with B≠0, into A′(x′)2+C′(y′)2+D′x′+E′y′+F=0, without requiring the rotation angle θ. This directly eliminates the cross term xy, simplifying the rotated conics analysis. As consequences, we obtain new formulae that remove both rotations and translations, a no...
Closed-loop manufacturing is crucial in Industry 4.0, since it provides an online detection–correction cycle to optimize the production line by using the live data provided from the product being manufactured. By integrating the inspection system and manufacturing processes, the production line achieves a new level of accuracy and savings on costs....
This paper presents reflections on the provision of disciplines of Differential and Integral Calculus I and Analytic Geometry and Linear Algebra in distance mode, by UTFPR, which began in the year 2014. We collected the data through questionnaires given to students at the end of each of the semesters in several campuses where the project was implem...
