Introducing the RG Format
12th February 2015
We are excited to introduce RG Format today. This new way of presenting research adds a social dimension to your reading experience that helps you get the most out of it.
Opening up the conversation
Six million researchers already share more than two million publications on ResearchGate every month. Now, RG format opens up the conversation on this research. You can share feedback publicly with authors and peers, and highlight what’s interesting to you directly on the page. Here you learn what others think about your work and engage in a conversation with them.
Get more information than what is on the page and tap into the knowledge of six million researchers. With our split-screen design you can read research on the left and instantly see what others have to say about it on the right. Get additional information, like citations, figures and graphs, in line with the text. This is how RG Format makes it easy for you to concentrate on what you’re reading, and put it into context at the same time.
Here’s how it works:
You see the text on the left side of the screen. To view a citation or figure, click on the number in the text. The additional information will then be highlighted and displayed on the right side of your screen – you won’t lose the spot where you left off, and you don’t even need to scroll.
To share your feedback, highlight the text you’re referring to, or click on the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner of a paragraph. Select from the menu whether you’d like to label the passage as interesting, reproducible or not reproducible, or whether it needs clarification. You can also leave comments for your peers if you like.
Do you have feedback for us? We are looking forward to hearing from you.
