I think it depends on who is optimizing. From the provider perspective, virtualization (as mentioned by Mohammad Reza Abbasy) is one technology that helps. With virtualization, other techniques such as consolidation can be applied, so VMs are consolidated to a minimum number of hosts able to support them. The excess hosts can go to lower energy states, helping in reducing energy consumption of the data center. From the user perspective, auto-scaling can help in keeping a small number of VMs enough to cope with the application workload. As the demand increases, more VMs can be dynamically added, and as the demand decreases, VMs can be decomissioned.

When an energetic ion (called projectile) impinges on a solid surface (called target), it looses energy through a series of binary collisions (the so called collision cascades) with the target atoms and finally comes to a rest and is called an implanted or dopant atoms. In a typical ion bombardment experiment instead of a single ion, a beam of ion is employed, meaning, there are huge no of ions interacting per second with the target atoms and the perpendicular distant from the surface to the depth of the bulk target material where most of the ions are stopped called the projected range (or simply range for the ions incident normally at o deg angle of incidence w.r.t the target surface). Although the concentration of the implanted atoms are maximum at the range, the maximum energy transfered by the impinging ions or the energy deposited within the target occurs approximately half of the distance of the range. Consequently violent collision cascades zones are extended roughly from the surface to the distancee of maximum energy deposited in to the target. Now target atoms or recoils which have got enough energy from the projectiles to overcome their surface binding energy are knocked out from the surface, a phenomena called sputtering and these ejected target atoms are termed as sputtered atoms. The recoil atoms generated at certain depths from the surface obviously looses sufficient energy and stops somewhere through scattering while reaching towards the surface and can not escape from the surface effectively not contributing to the sputtering process. In other words, the recoil atoms generated at that part of the collision cascades which is situated at the vicinity of the surfcae only take part to the sputtering. The sputtering yield is defined as the no of atoms ejected from the target atoms per incident ion. The sputtering yield increases with the angle of ion incidence because the deposited energy distribution is shifted closer to the surface. There is a maximum at an angle between 70 and 76” and then the yield decreases rapidly for larger angles. The drop-off of the yield at glancing angles is thought to be caused by the increase of ion reflection from the target surface. The Physics of the sputtering with all its dependence on fluence, energy etc is defined in the classic paper by Peter Sigmund, Phyical Review vol 184, year 1969, page 383 and the Physics of the SRIM originally developed as TRIM is discussed in the paper J. P. Biersack and W. Eckstein, Applied Physics A vol 34, year 1984, page 73

I agree Patel. But you will like your experiments to be correlated with the natural. If the cells grow in a serum environment then it is essential that their conditions are maintained and the final serum concentration as well. So in the end you can say that your drug may have similar likely effect in nature

But if you are dealing with small system like 3 to 10 boson system, and apply the above criterion, there must be a largest eigenvalue which is exactly the number of particles. I think 3 to 10 boson systems are not count as Bose-Einstein condensate. That is exactly the point which leads me to the confusion.

As often the answer very much depends on the view of the persons who have to judge on it and it depends on the application. If you sell a box of cosmetic cream and the customer observes an oil layer on top he will call it unstable. For one customer even the slightest sign of a film will be enough to call it unstable but others will tolerate much more separation. From the point of application the question is whether you can restore the original properties by moderate agitation or not. As additional mechanism of emulsion degradation Ostwald ripening was already mentioned, which means larger droplets grow on expense of the smaller ones due to diffusion through the continuous phase. Further mechanisms of degradation of original emulsion properties are flocculation and phase inversion.

Halophilic strain get lyse when water was added to it due to osmotic pressure and DNA comes out. I have just added water to my strain and after that direct, phenol chloroform steps. It give high yield. I have also isolated DNA with HiPurATM Bacterial and Yeast Genomic DNA purification spin kit (Himedia, Mumbai) . It also gives good result. Good luck

Based on the turnover time or the time needed for the entire volume of a reservoir to be renewed, rivers only need 12-20 days to renew itself. But because of human intrusion (waste disposal, human settlement, factory sites, etc), pollution in rivers are increased. If it is possible in any way to eliminate these, then the river can naturally renew itself. One should also take note that rivers are resilient to these types of disturbances, thus they have the capability to go back to their original state even after a disturbance. External factors don't always reduce niches. Remember that facilitation can make the 'realized' niche larger than the 'fundamental' niche. In Hutchinsonian terms, facilitation can raise the reproduction of a species above zero in areas in which abiotic factors would suggest that the single species would have r<0. It is common experience that it comes from the co-ordinated activities of the brain. All cells work this way and brain cells are no exception. Unfortunately, the central nervous system is still an organ of frontier because of its complexity. It is a biphasic system (solid / liquid i.e. membranes / cytoplasm) which is not based on the chemistry of the aqueous solutions but on the chemistry of biphasic systems that is less understood. However in recent years through the techniques of Functional Neuroimaging is possible to study the human brain while it is operating. In addition, in animal models can be used all “omics” methodologies so I think the molecular basis of consciousness will eventually be known.
