- Is it time we shift emphasis from technological solutions to climate change & focus on the 'Human Dimension'?
Isn't the obvious solution and elephant-in-the-room 'BETTER HUMAN BEINGS'? Shouldn't the focus be on better human beings rather than better technology? Is it not obvious that nature can heal itself, if only left alone, and it is we humans who need regulation? Many natural parks managers do just that; seal off the area from human interference to let nature heal and recover. It is classified as 'Strict Nature Reserve"by IUCN. Complacency and inaction are not advocated here, as many have misunderstood, but the shifting of focus from technology to the human being. As technology is no match for human greed, isn't introspection & restraining ourselves more relevant than developing more technology, which caused the mess in the first place, by making it easy for a few to consume more? Since technology is only a short term quick fix which fails after a short time, isn't the real problem our addiction to material consumption & our lack of understanding about human nature? Isn't developing more technology sustaining the addiction instead of correcting it, leading to more complex problems later on, needing more complex technological quick fixes like higher drug dosages, more ground troops & equipment, (along with their debilitating side effects) in the future? Isn't this the vicious addiction circle we are trapped in? As researchers, do we merely buy more time with technology OR go to the very root of the problem, the human being?
A lot of hue and cry is made about climate change and the environment in general. Public and private money is poured into research to study its effects on the environment, sustainability etc. Should we study nature or ourselves?

Human activities have been found to have a direct correlation to climate change and its impact on the environment(I=P x A x T, the Ehrlich and Holdren equation), in spite of what some complacent sections say to protect their own self interests.
We hardly know about Human nature. We can scarcely predict human behavior. We need to find out why we think like we do and why we do what we do and why, in spite of all knowledge and wisdom, consume more than what we need, in the form of addictions to consumption and imbalance not only ourselves but also the family, society and environment around us..
Humanity is directly responsible for all the unnatural imbalances occurring on the planet. Yet we refuse to take responsibility and instead focus on climate change, or fool the public exchequer with a 'breakthrough in renewable energy just around the corner'. We scarcely know what drives human beings. If we had known, all the imbalances around us would have had solutions by now, given the amount of money plowed into finding such solutions. Are we blindly groping in the dark of climate change because we don't know the answers to our own nature?
Is it not high time we focus on what makes us human, correct our consumptive behavior and leave nature to take care of climate change? Why focus effort on 'externals' when the problem is 'internal'- 'me'?
Aren't we addicts denying our addiction and blaming everything else but ourselves?

I'm pretty sure humans have less testosterone (and so sexual dimorphism) when compared to other primates, but I cannot find any study on that.
Also look at work by Alan Dixson. There is probably data in his book on Primate Sexuality to answer your question. For certain, humans actually show MORE sexual dimorphism than the monogamous callitrichid primates.Following

Geo Board – This application explores the world of shapes and the possibilities which are presented when given a peg board and a rubber band. We have had fun creating our names, as well as various shape patterns. This application is aimed for those with some experience in using a tablet device (Little F, age 3, found it hard to use). - Does Gelstar gel dye bind ssDNA differently from dsDNA?
I have been attempting asymmetric PCR Lately and have noticed that some of my bands on the gel are showing up in an orange color vs the typical greenish color. Could Gelstar dye bind ssDNA in a different manor then it does dsDNA resulting in a slightly different florescent emission?
I have read that ssDNA travels ~10% faster than dsDNA. This suggests that the orange bands are ssDNA, but I want to make sure. the green bands I am seeing correspond in size to standard dsDNA PCR lanes with these same primers.
Could this perhaps be some other contaminate or perhaps the DNA is taking on a unique confirmation?
If anyone has experience with this phenomenon, I would really appreciate your help.

Firstly, I will appreciate your important number of questions, which is proving that the ResearchGate website is useful and considered by scientists in finding the good information.
Regarding the production of PLA/PA6 blends and their adequate thermal stabilization, I will say that is recommended to use some thermal stabilizers already successfully tested with these polymers. Based on my experience following the work with both polymers, I will say that PLA is rather a new polymer as commercial production at larger scale, thus it is not enough studied point of view thermal stabilization. Moreover it is considered that the traditional synergistic systems, such as Irganox® HP 2215 to give only an example (a blend of 57% IRGAFOX 168, 28% IRGANOX 1010 and 15% HP-136/ respectively, an organic phosphite for decomposing the hydroperoxides, a hindered phenolic primary antioxidant and a lactone which acts as radical scavenger) can lead to good stabilization during processing and to required long-term thermal stability. But it seems that you have already used this kind of product, while your melt-compounding conditions are rather reasonable! To summarize, I have tested with PLA the product HP 2215 and following the isothermal tests (TGA method), it is working well…
On the other hand, as it is described in the literature it could be of interest to test some phosphites (pentaerythritol diphosphite (e.g. Ultranox 626, a high activity phosphite, in fact a secondary antioxidant), TNNP- trisnonylphenyl phosphite, etc.) already tested with PLA and which can have a stabilizing effect, while additionally a chain extension is believed to be the most likely mechanism for the molecular weight stabilization (see details in Cicero, J. A.; Dorgan, J. R.; Dec, S. F.; Knauss, D. M., Phosphite stabilization effects on two-step melt-spun fibers of polylactide. Polymer Degradation and Stability 2002, 78 (1), 95-105).
Finally, I will say that for instance it is difficult to say what is the most efficient antioxidant/thermal stabilizer for PLA/PA6 blends…but during the time we will receive the best answers. I will point also the importance to find a good compatibilizer, even that this subject is not regarding your question.
