    Badr, Hi,

    As it was pointed out before there is no single answer to your question without knowing more about the nature of your application. Based on our experience with the tooling for hot aluminum alloys extrusion we believe that the grain size has the primary impact on the strength of the tooling at elevated temperature. The amount of Cobalt had a secondary impact. In other words we increased resistance to cracking for our tool by switching to WC with the submicron grain size.     According to the Glossary of Corpus Linguistics (Baker, Hardie and Mc. Enery 2006) there is one composed by recordings from Dallas Fort Worth, Logan International and Washington National airports. Access is paid only and available at the Linguistic Data Consortium, but since I am not really interested in the data but in the corpus structure and design I would like to know if there is another one available online or any papers about them.     I am trying to use Factsage to perform the phase equilibrium calculation of a quitnary system: (A-B-C-D-E) under p(O2)=0.21atm and total gas pressure P=1atm. In order to simplify the calculation, the quitnary system is regarded as a ternary system with end members, e.g. A, B, and C under fixed contents of D and E [p=D/(A+B+C), q=E/(A+B+C) where p, q are constants].

    I have found some examples in literatures  (see attached file) but I don't know how they are performed. Which module will be used for calculation and how to set the variables (especially for oxygen partial pressure)? I will be grateful if you provide detail information.

    Dear Mr. Mangala,

    Have in mind that sugar means all mono- and disaccharides. If you want to estimate total charbohydrate content you can use the phenol-sulfuric acid method of DuBois et al. If you used DNS method you can determinate only reducing sugars - that means all that have free anomeric -OH group.

    For more correct determination of mono- and disaccharides (sugars) you can use HPLC-RID method.

      ABSTRACT: The aim of the current study was to investigate the carbohydrate composition, total phenolic content and in vitro antioxidant activities of 70 % (v/v) ethanol extracts obtained from fruits and leaves of three Morus species: white mulberry (Morus alba), black mulberry (Morus nigra) and red mulberry (Morus rubra) grown in Bulgaria. The carbohydrate content was determinated by spectrophotomeric, TLC and HPLC-RID methods. The total phenolic content was analyzed by Folin–Ciocalteau method. The antioxidant activities of above mentioned extracts were evaluated by DPPH and FRAP assays. From the obtained results, monosaccharides fructose and glucose were found to be the main sugars in all investigated extracts, as their content reached to 3.0 g/100 g fw in fruits and 0.6 g/100g fw in leaves. M. alba and M. rubra fruits were evaluated as a natural source of prebiotic, due to the presence of 1-kestose, nystose and inulin. The absence of sucrose in all mulberry fruit extracts was also established. The total phenolic content was reported to be the highest in black and red mulberry leaves, as their values reached up to 2 mg GAE/g fw. The extracts from M. nigra leaves demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity for both assays: for DPPH were 10.9 mM TE/g fw and for FRAP – 6.0 mM TE/g fw, respectively. The current research was the first comprehensive study for detailed analysis of carbohydrate composition and antioxidant properties of three mulberry species grown in Bulgaria. Therefore, mulberry fruits and leaves could be assumed as a rich source of biologically active substances with great importance for human nutrition.

Many of his points are worth noting, e.g., the business model as the drive, authoritarian dispensation of knowledge, the threat to the intellectual art of teaching, and a comparison to anti-MOOC stand to that of Luddites. What struck me most is what he says about the value of being in a physical classroom:

    "Can one describe what it's like to be in a classroom that is working well? It isn't like any other conversation or any other human encounter. When you listen to the exchange of well-formulated thoughts in a discussion of a complex work of art or thought - a human document concerning human actions - you learn a good deal that can't be quantified, packaged or transmitted by an efficient impersonal medium, no matter how up-to-date, no matter how well-engineered.

    ... Will it be quite the same without the actual person in the actual room? It our intuitions tell us that something is missed in such encounters, if ... the online professor fails to capture a certain human dimension,we ought to ask what else is missing from the picture of progress that we are being urged to follow simply because it calls itself by the name of progress."

    In his 2014 book "Consciousness and the Brain: Deciphering How the Brain Codes Our Thoughts" Stanislas Dehaene wrote "Chalmers, a philosopher of the University of Arizona, is famous for introducing a distinction between the easy and the hard problems. The easy problem of consciousness, he argues, consists in explaining the many functions of the brain: how do we recognize a face, a word, or a landscape? How do we extract information form the senses and use it to guide our behavior? How do we generate sentences to describe what we feel?

    “Although all these questions are associated with consciousness,” Chalmers argues, “they all concern the objective mechanisms of the cognitive system, and consequently, we have every reason to expect that continued work in cognitive psychology and neuroscience will answer them. By contrast the hard problem is the “question of how physical processes in the brain give rise to subjective experience … the way things feel for the subject. When we see for example, we experience visual sensations, such as that of vivid blue. Or think of the ineffable sound of a distant oboe, the agony of an intense pain, the sparkle of happiness or the meditative quality of a moment lost in thought … It is these phenomena that poses the real mystery of the mind”."

    Stanislas Dehaene's opinion is "that Chalmers swapped the labels: it is the “easy” problem that is hard, while the “hard” problem just seems hard because it engages ill-defined intuitions. Once our intuition is educated by cognitive neuroscience and computer simulations, Chalmers’ “hard problem” will evaporate".

    Personally, I agree with Stanislas Dehaene's opinion.

    Do you agree that there are different kinds of conscious experiences? i.e., 

    1. Feelings (which include the activity of the mood modules, as engaged by either emotions, sensations or cognition—i.e., all forms of affect);
    2. Sensing (input from sensory organs that may or may not activate mood modules);
    3. Cognition (thinking and related mental activity that may or may not activate mood modules).

    All these experiences are conscious but do you think impossible to speak of "unconscious experiences" such as when specific events influence your thinking and/or behavior and that you are not conscious of such influence?

    According to you, is the sentence "the consciousness experienced by a dog is most likely different from that experienced by a human" meaningless?
