    Hi, Oracle XE also comes for free and it works just fine. As to the functionality there are some important diferences, such as sequences, synonims and some more. Also the process of creating a new database is diferent. I guess we have to be with both in mind: the web (mysql) and empresarial and the like applications (oracle). Greetings

  Hello group members, a few colleagues of mine including myself from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb, Croatia (http://www.foi.hr/en/index.html) are planning toHello group members, a few colleagues of mine including myself from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb, Croatia (http://www.foi.hr/en/index.html) are planning to apply for a NATO Science for Peace and Security SPS grant (http://www.nato.int/science/nato_funded_activities/nato_funded_activities.htm) and are looking for possible partners. The partner has to be eligible for the grant (take a look at http://www.nato.int/science/nato_funded_activities/who_can_apply.htm). Due to the dual nature of Croatia at the moment we are able to apply as a NATO member as well as a NATO partner country. The main idea of the project is to investigate political social and cyber networks (web mining, social network analysis, topic analysis, computer forensics) in order to find patterns and make possible predictions of the political situation in the country with a special accent on security related issues. Our goal is to collect the necessary data from various publicly-available sources like on-line forums, blogging sites, social networks, news and media etc. in order to provide comparative analysis in all project-partner countries. We already conducted few preliminary investigations and collected some datasets using self-implemented crawlers. We would now like to implement a political tracking system which could provide the public with recent trends in politics in their country by using various advanced techniques. We are looking for serious partners that would be interested in such a project. The perfect partner group of researchers would have the following characteristics: - affiliated with an academic institution related to computer, information or social sciences in a NATO member or partner country (eligibility) - is a group of open minded, confident, hardworking academics - has experience in web mining, (social) network analysis, social media and/or semantic web, computer forensics (in form of published research) If you are interested in becoming our partner, have any questions or doubts please do not hesitate to contact me.
