    Hi Liese, I am working as a knowledge transfer officer for a Dutch Climate Change programme, aimed mostly at adaptation. We are dealing on a daily basis with the issue you just describe. A source that I found very useful is Futerra, which as a UK based communication research organisation, that has some pretty good basic communication tips for communicating on climate change (10 simple rules). You ask for images about the shift in climate change, but in your question you ask for ideas how to explain adapting to climate change, which are two different things. One thing I am working on now, in a larger EU program, is an Adaptation Inspiration Book. It's about Europe only, but still I think it's interesting to you as well. We want to showcase implemented adaptation measures, i.e. measures that have been built and you can take a photo of. Precisely, because most scienstis keep haning in the policy/strategy/uncertainty debate (policy makers as well), while the general public doesn't have a concrete picture in mind WHAT adaptation really is. We want to overcome this communication problem by showing them what it looks like in real life, so that it becomes just as real the them as cutting energy costs and reducing carbon.
