  Using polarized neutron reflectometry, we have found the intrinsic magnetic properties of hidden interfacial phases in ultra-strong magnets made of hybrids of the conventional soft-magnet iron andUsing polarized neutron reflectometry, we have found the intrinsic magnetic properties of hidden interfacial phases in ultra-strong magnets made of hybrids of the conventional soft-magnet iron and rare-earth hard-magnet samarium-cobalt. The new phases enhance coupling between the iron and samarium-cobalt, creating a stronger permanent magnet system.
