    I recently have been using Vue as it has a no-nonsense interface and can be exported as a jpeg. Since I use mind mapping only to link complex concepts for others, It is better to link to the presentation manager than to link directly to the Word Processor. Most of the time, indentation would be enough, but when the concepts get truly complex, being able to draw edges or curves between two separate objects helps.

    What might make sense, is if you do a sort of skeletal link and box design, as your first step, then allow the substitution of Symbolic Boxen and links in order to form UML flow charts etc. IfWhat might make sense, is if you do a sort of skeletal link and box design, as your first step, then allow the substitution of Symbolic Boxen and links in order to form UML flow charts etc. If something like this were integrated into a design management system like Redmine it might have value. But the sketch step needs to be factored out, as your start-screen, or you will waste a lot of time making presentation quality graphics in the early specification steps. A Wiki-like approach where anyone can change the graphics, but only by making a new version would be good as well. This would allow a sort of archive of ideas that would allow the designer to backtrack easier or branch from a different version. If this was practical it might be possible to also have "Release" versions that then would become part of the public image. From the Work-Flow perspective, it would be nice if you could go from the mind map, to a first rough, estimate of the work needed. I.E. each object in a program, would be given an arbitrarily determined project time-period, and you could do what-if spread-sheet like manipulations to achieve some sort of GANTT like chart predicting work-flow.

  I am new to the field of brain mapping. Just now gone through mind mapping...is it the same thing or two different terms?? If so, please clear the difference between the two
