  Hello! I am analysing dermoscopic images for finding their vascular patterns. For the moment I have a quite nice segmentation of the veins thanks to clustering and thresholding techniques. But nowHello! I am analysing dermoscopic images for finding their vascular patterns. For the moment I have a quite nice segmentation of the veins thanks to clustering and thresholding techniques. But now that I have extracted the veins I need to analyse the shape of those, which can be dots, lagoons, strikes, etc. So I guess I need to do some machine learning first for defining the templates and maybe neural networks afterwards for finding these shapes in the image ...? Or some snake or other techniques...? Any suggestion? Best, Nerea

  I am trying to identify vessels in dermoscopic images and I am trying to do it by finding similar colors. That is, I do some machine learning. I select some pixels that correspond to the veins (byI am trying to identify vessels in dermoscopic images and I am trying to do it by finding similar colors. That is, I do some machine learning. I select some pixels that correspond to the veins (by hand) in the picture, I calculate the convex hull of these points and then I check all the pixels in the image to decide if they are within the convex hull or not. I have tried to do this in different color spaces but it is not very efficient, even if I use a tolerance. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you
