    Given that MBAs 'know less and less about more and more' and PhDs 'know more and more about less and less' then perhaps you shouldn’t use academic qualification as the sole selection criteria forGiven that MBAs 'know less and less about more and more' and PhDs 'know more and more about less and less' then perhaps you shouldn’t use academic qualification as the sole selection criteria for Leadership....in my experience good leadership is more about emotional intelligence than intellectual intelligence!! Thought provoking question though!

    Over time, I have come to realize that every academic what ever the level of education must strive to be an effective communicator who is adaptable to the education and level and exposure of allOver time, I have come to realize that every academic what ever the level of education must strive to be an effective communicator who is adaptable to the education and level and exposure of all those who may seek advice from him. When I graduated from university at first degree in Veterinary Medicine, I found it very difficult to communicate to illiterate and lowly literate farmers. I however quickly realized even educated farmers with not much interest in the scientific component of farming actually were sort of illiterate if I communicated like I would to my fellow vets. It also started getting clear to me that majority of educated service providers especially in developing nations tended to talk to themselves by talking to their customers as if they were equals academically. Today, with a masters down the line and numerous other training, I am able to communicate scientific and non scientific information to customers of all shades of education.
