Gopalakrishnan Nair, Selvarani has a method - now used by some industries- which calculates the MI with a polynomial containing measurable properties available in CK metrics. The related papers from them are available in ACM, IEEE explore, Cornell ArXiv, DBLP etc and could be easily used for studies and in industry

Here we are confronted with a well known difficulty, namely, how to translate business objectives to software engineering constraints, or vice versa ? Taking a clue from Kanji, one could use a logographic (aka modelling) language to map spoken requirements to models. Maieutics will then proceed: Managers select a functional pattern (aka radical) representative of the problem at hand. Social Research, allows an understanding of how people socialize across the Internet. There are bound to be some data gathering things needed, and some database mining required to extract value from the raw numbers. An MRI or Magnetic Resonance Imager, allows scientists to vibrate atoms at a particular frequency, and pick it up with a sensitive instrument. If a characteristic of a specific type of cell, is different enough from that of other cells around it, the difference might be made visible by Post Processing the MRI image. There is a hope that with immune floroscopy, and other new staining techniques that we can actually image specific cell types at a much higher resolution than that used for the actual imaging, because testing for the particular floroscopic compound in a differential uptake situation, will cause some of the cells to be shown with a contrast where electron microscopy doesn't allow the contrast. Cognitive Engines are the base machines that we hope to build cognitive machines from. There are a number of these out there, from the basic Java Rulebase to sophisticated robots that have been proposed as being functionally conscious. Of course my own model is far from being developed, but there is a demand for these types of engines in games, and Expert Systems where the human factor is critical. The Mobile phone, or today's Smart Phone or tablet, is all about light weight, small cost, and relatively low bandwidth display of high information content data. But if you have ever used one, you know that there is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done, to build a really useful, handheld device, not just at the manufacturing level, but also at the software interfaces etc. Recently someone came up with an open source method of detecting the DIFFS between two engineering designs. However, it should be noted that these DIFFS were of the same circuit formated the same way with the same CAD software, it would be much more useful, to allow more flexible analysis using some form of image analysis software so that if there were some problem with the format differences the software would be able to pick the circuit apart into its component traces, and determine what the differences actually were. My interest is in using the new model of implicit memory as a redundant data cloud, to build a better database. Essentially, the problem with database analysis, is that it uses a matching algorithm to find records that fit a particular input pattern. This means that it has to match every record against the input pattern. The brain seems to use a parallel search mechanism based on Similarities between the input pattern and the existing stored value. The output of that search, is a field of data rather than a list of records. The data points to any record that has similar data, as indicated by its content accessable response to the input. Think of a class of students, sitting quietly in the classroom, and the teacher says, does anybody here look like Tom? Any kid that even thinks or dreams he might look like Tom Selleck, puts up his hand, and says "I do, I do" At the record level the database would do something very similar, each record putting up its hand and saying, I look like Tom. (Where Tom is the input data) The output field, is an amorphous cloud of data, that represents all the kids who ever dreamed that they looked like Tom. Because each record has some data about Tom, the cloud actually knows more about Tom, than the records do. In this sense it is a bit like datamining. But the difference comes in how the data gets partitioned. Instead of looking for exact matches, we partition the data using some Salience rules. For instance, if the color red says I look like Tom because Tom wore a red shirt in Quiggly Down Under, then we can say, that is not particularly salient. However, if a record says, I look like Tom because I have the same mustache, that might be salient. A later stage of processing could group together the eyebrows, the mustache, the eyes, the ears, and the worry lines, on Tom's face, and recognize that Bill there really does look like Tom Selleck. Isn't that to some extent, that what facial recognition software does? Have you ever walked up behind someone, you were sure was your friend, and tapped them on the shoulder only to find that they were actually a complete stranger? A computer isn't likely to make that mistake, because it wouldn't be able to see the friend for the crowd. A good example of this is the Forest and Tree problem. Satellite imaging had no problem determining how many forests there were, but had no assurance that they could count trees. The problem was that Trees, especially young trees, and shrubs or bushes look much the same to a satellite. When the scientists went to develop software to count trees, they couldn't tell the difference between a tree and a shrub. Ambiguity has been a real problem for A.I. But it shouldn't be a problem for a Database based on this implicit memory model, because the trees, the shrubs and the bushes will all put up their hands and say "I do, I do" and that is good, because a later stage can then try to separate out which is a tree, which is a bush, and which is a shrub. The program will not simply refuse to accept anything that is ambiguous, and therefore a "False Positive".
