  I think cross-sectional surveys must be representative of the targeted population (often leading to important sample sizes). Is it the same for case-control study ?

Regarding the high-motivation population comment by Frederick, this population isn't overly motivated as it's just students and general staff at my school; however when I do the expansion next year (I hope) I plan to target more interested populations like hospital employees and primary school employees, this also of benefit since these populations are high-risk for infections! For this pilot, I've provided the incentive of 4 $200 raffle winners, which hopefully will be sufficient but we'll see.
