  Why discrepancy between crude nutrient intakes and energy-adjusted nutrient intakes?

  This happens to me when using the residual method (Willett, 1998) and the ln (residuals) are added to the mean of ln (nutrient intake) and after exponentiated. The difference between energy adjustedThis happens to me when using the residual method (Willett, 1998) and the ln (residuals) are added to the mean of ln (nutrient intake) and after exponentiated. The difference between energy adjusted and crude intakes seems more evident when variability of nutrient intake is wider (It seems like a technical problem when returning from ln scale particularly when values close to cera are present). Any suggestions?

    In all comaprsion adjustment is more accurate than the absolute value.   I am currently working on meta-analysis for some project and need some guidance on it. I am on the stage where I have compiled the data in a tabular form under the headings/categories that I neededI am currently working on meta-analysis for some project and need some guidance on it. Now, I am looking forward for some technical help in order to analyze the data. I also came across of one software but still have a bunch of queries with me that's needed to be resolved. kindly let me know, if anybody has its experience and can guide me.

    You can add in non-randomized trials, but be careful that you are comparing apples to apples. You'll also need to use a mixed-effects model.

  My fellow is conducting research to identify the best bone age predictor for chronological age. Currently used method is G&P. His hypothesis is that other tests (three methods he is going to compare,My fellow is conducting research to identify the best bone age predictor for chronological age. Currently used method is G&P. His hypothesis is that other tests (three methods he is going to compare, I have forgotten actual names) are superior to G&P in predicting age. He is taking school children (8 - 15yrs both M/F). What statistical method he should use? And on what basis he should calculate his sample size from previous studies? (mean/variance of: a] chronological age OR b] G*P age)

    dear all , thanks for theses a lot of suggestion so with this sample size we could use t test with confidence interval for difference this with Farshad Sharif also after using this quantitivedear all , thanks for theses a lot of suggestion so with this sample size we could use t test with confidence interval for difference this with Farshad Sharif also after using this quantitive analysis, move to qualtitive analysis we could use the great suggestion of sonal calculate number and percentage male and femae suffering with the same and average quality of life then you could use z test (proportion test) or chi-square. but take care if you classify use spss order transform recode into different variale if you want to test each catogry normal in male and femalr use z test mild in male and femalr use z test moderate in male and femalr use z test sever in male and femalr use z test use z test which is not avliable on spss it is avaliable on medcalc WWW.Medcalc.be but if you take overall comarsion male female normal mild moderate we must use chi-squre with linear trends
