Article: Worst-case response time of aperiodc message in WorldFIP and its improvement in real-time capability.
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: How to support real-time traffic of aperiodic messages using WorldFIP is investigated in this paper. Transmission of aperiodic message within WorldFIP is a very complicated procedure because it is concerned with left time in a microcycle and must successively experience three different stages, indicating, identifying, and transmitting aperiodic message. This paper presents an integrated approach to analyze the worst-case responding time (WCRT) of aperiodic message, through integrating transmission of periodic message and these three stages of aperiodic message together. To decrease pessimistic factors in WCRT of aperiodic message, priority of aperiodic message is considered. Detail analysis of the WCRT of aperiodic message indicates that the current scheduling method cannot effectively utilize priority to guarantee important aperiodic messages. Then improved scheduling methods, one adding priority and another adjusting the schedule table, are proposed. The improved methods are finally validated by case studies.ISA Transactions 11/2004; 43(4):623-37. · 1.11 Impact Factor -
Conference Proceeding: Characteristic of multi-class multi-queue system
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In this paper, we propose MCMQS (multi-class multi-queue system), which is effective in modeling and analyzing computer and communication systems, and we investigate its characteristics in detail. First, we deduce MCMQS's general system stability condition, and give its application in concrete types of services. Through analyzing the service procedure and number of waiting messages, we construct an embedded Markov chain and a generation function of waiting messages. Then, we derive an analytical expression of MCMQS's mean system operation period under the system stable condition. Further, we amend the analytical expression after considering the effect of the system stable condition. A numerical example verifies the theoretical analysis.Control Applications, 2002. Conference Proceeding: Stability analysis for multi-class multi-queue single server system under polling table
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: We first propose and research a multi-class multi-queue system single server under polling table, which is more proper for modeling token-based communication systems. Then we deduce its common stability condition through analyzing the procedure of message service and message queue in this system. Further, we obtain stability conditions with services, such as limited and gated service, from the common stability condition. Besides, both queue stability and system stability are considered for some systems whose exact analyses have not been obtained yet. The analysis indicates that system stability and queue stability depend on the service styles.American Control Conference, 2002. Proceedings of the 2002; 02/2002
