ABSTRACT: A simple method for the implementation of cyclo-stationary shot-noise sources in harmonic balance simulators is proposed. The presented implementation method is particularly useful for the noise analysis in mixers or switching circuits with large signal excitations.

ABSTRACT: For use in an anti-collision car radar system, a 77 GHz 5th harmonic,flip-chip Si-Schottky diode mixer was developed in a hybrid microstrip technology. First measurements show excellent conversion data, down to 22 dB conversion loss at 77 GHz and 10 dBm LO power.

ABSTRACT: Driven by mobile communication and sensor applications a continuous progress in planar mixer technology could be observed during the last few years. Starting with a summary of fundamental mixing theory, the most interesting planar circuit concepts will be shown. Nonlinear semiconductor devices and their models will be reviewed. The practical design process and some experience with nonlinear analysis will be discussed. Recent results from state of the art mixing circuits will be introduced.

ABSTRACT: We present noise characterisations of silicon MOSFETs in terms of the four noise parameters from 150 MHz to 20 GHz. A special tuner system was designed and built to measure below 1 GHz. Additionally we present S-parameter measurements and show the good correspondence which can be achieved between measured and simulated S-parameters based on the extracted small signal elements
