  • Conference Proceeding: Model construction for expression of color impressions-consideringreduction of human load

ABSTRACT: This paper proposes a method to construct a subjective model for color impressions considering the reduction of human load. A model is constructed using the fuzzy rules expression in which the premise part shows color information and the consequent part shows emotional effects of color. Two kinds of questionnaire are carried out in order to obtain subjective information and a subjective model is constructed using them. The effectiveness of constructed subjective models is verified by the comparison with the objective model constructed by experts and with another subjective one

  • Conference Proceeding: Expression model of subjective color impressions

ABSTRACT: This paper proposes the method to construct an expression model of color impressions which is a fuzzy model representing the subjective relationships between color and color impressions, such as the feeling of warm-cool and the feeling of soft-hard. The relationships are represented by fuzzy if-then rules. Hue and tone are used in the antecedent part and the feeling of warm-cool and the feeling of soft-hard are employed in the consequent part. Fuzzy sets in the antecedent part are defined using conventional knowledge in the study field of color. Two kinds of questionnaires are held to obtained the subjective measure on which fuzzy sets in the consequent part are defined. One is the absolute judgment, and the other is the comparative judgment. The proposed model, however, has the following problems. The method of paired comparison for all color samples gives heavy load to users. Therefore, this paper also proposes the practical method using the paired comparison to avoid this problem. The effectiveness of this method is also verified by experiments
