  • Chapter: An Improved Biphasic Defibrillator for First Aid Pediatric Applications
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: An improved biphasic defibrillator-monitor intended for first aid applications is presented. Small dimensions, size and weight, plus battery operation contribute to its high portability. Thirteen selectable values of the shock energy, ranging from 5 J to 200 J, widen its application possibilities to include pediatric applications. Pediatric paddles, were designed and a contactless method was devised to automatically identify them when connected, limiting the maximum available shock energy to 100 J. Automatic recording of all events in an internal non-removable flash memory makes the defibrillation or cardioversion processes for up to 50 patients to be easily recovered off line, even though it is possible to arm the defibrillator during the data transfer process if so were needed. Data is read by a personal computer and processed with a proprietary friendly event analyzing system, allowing the operator to check out for process safety integrity. The proprietary event analyzer supplied with the defibrillator has proved to be a useful tool for processing patient data stored in the flash memory module. • Conference Proceeding: Therapeutic electrical stimulator
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In this paper, a two-channel electrical stimulator for electrotherapy, developed by the authors, is reviewed. The group of stimulation protocols available, the block diagram based on the electrical design and the principal tasks accomplished by the firmware are presented and discussed. The results of technical tests performed on several prototypes are also included and discussed. Including 26 stimulation programs, with programmable or fixed parameters, the stimulator is useful for rehabilitation and pain-managing applications in any health system.

Article: ESTIMULADOR ELÉCTRICO MANUABLE PARA APLICACIONES EN ANESTESIOLOGÍA
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
