Conference Proceeding: Transmission of 42.8-Gb/s polarization multiplexed RZ-QPSK DWDM signals over 3900 km with 12.5-GHz channel spacing and coherent detection

ABSTRACT: We have experimentally demonstrated 42.8 Gb/s DWDM transmission over 3900 km SMF-28 with 12.5-GHz channel spacing and coherent detection. Eight polarization-multiplexed-RZ-QPSK signals have been successfully transmitted over 3000 and 3900-km SMF-28 with BER< 8 Ã 10<sup>-4</sup> and 2 Ã 10<sup>-3</sup>, repetitively.Optical Fiber Communication (OFC), collocated National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2010 Conference on (OFC/NFOEC); 04/2010
