Conference Proceeding: Design of Multi-Function Monitoring Integrated Device in Power System
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: With high development of electronics and computer technology, a new real-time system of multi-function monitoring integrated device based on industrial control computer automatic monitoring system with multi-sensor is designed in this paper. This system presents a scheme for power quality monitoring, electric parameters and data record, fault line diagnosis and selection with the concerns of real-time and complex algorithms application. The design of hardware system and the software design are introduced in detail. In a sense, we use a kind of a new technology spanning several disciplines, information blending, into the design in this paper. Further, a new algorithm using the calculation of fractal number to judge the failure line is presented for power grid monitor detection and fault line selection. By debugging and practical running, the design is proven to be accurate and practical. Comparing with the former designs, this design has better real-time performance, smaller volume and lower cost.Industry Applications Conference, 2007. 42nd IAS Annual Meeting. Conference Proceeding: Application of Adaptive Generalized Morphological Filter in Disturbance Identification for Power System Signatures
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: By analyzing basic operations of mathematical morphology (MM) digital filter and the selection of a structuring element (SE), an adaptive generalized morphological filter is presented to fast suppress noise. This new algorithm of the filter has more advantages of simplicity, convenience and flexibility than the conventional ways and has a brighter future in practical application. The filter is cascaded by basic morphological transforms and their combination forms with the same weight value and applied in processing on-line monitoring power system signatures to guarantee the accuracy of further fault diagnosis by higher signal-to-noise. Results of simulation show that the adaptive generalized morphological filter can suppress different kinds of white noises and pulse noises, restore the general regularity of the data effectively, and has better performance compared with single operation of morphological filter and other filtering approaches.Power System Technology, 2006.
