ABSTRACT: Eastern China has a vast land area with a long coastline, presenting a possible wind resource. But the use of the wind renewable energy to generate electric power is still on a small scale, because of the large upfront investment and lower internal rate of return. In this paper, the project of wind farm is used as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) case to reveal the mitigation cost per unit CO2. This investigation is based on baseline and incremental cost analysis. The case study has been made with capacity of 30MW wind power project. It is shown that development of wind farm is feasible in the eastern coast of China. The establishment and operation of the proposed project activity will promote the wind farm technology and utilization. It can also achieve the greenhouse gas emission reductions and promote the sustainable development at the local areas.
