Article: Self-similarity and the singular Cauchy problem for the heat equation with cubic absorption

ABSTRACT: We prove that, for any c ∈R, there exists a solution of the singular Cauchy problem for the semilinear heat equation the initial value being taken in the sense of distributions. The solution is obtained as a self-similar solution.Applied Mathematics Letters.
