Article: New results on heavy-flavor photoproduction from the E687 experiment at FNAL
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The new results on charm from E687 photoproduction experiment are presented. They follow from very high statistic measurents and cover a wide variety of physics items in the charm sector. Charm photoproduction studies, very accurate lifetime measurements, analysis of several semi-leptonic decays and hadronic decays are discussed. Particular attention has been devoted to compare E687 results with other experiments.Il Nuovo Cimento A 09/1994; 107(10):2025-2043. -
Article: A measurement of the Cabibbo-suppressed decays D0 → π−π+ and D0 → K−K+
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: We report a measurement of the relative branching ratio of two Cabibbo-suppressed decay modes: D0 → π−π+ and D0 → K−K+. The data were accumulated in the 1990–1991 fixed target run of Fermilab high energy photoproduction experiment E687. The branching ratios of these modes relative to the Cabibbo-allowed decay D0 → K−π+ are also presented. The relative branching ratios are measured to be Γ(D0 → KK)/Γ(D0 → ππ) = 2.53 ± 0.46 ± 0.19, Γ(D0 → KK)/Γ(D0 → Kπ) = 0.109 ± 0.007 ± 0.009, and Γ(D0 → ππ)/Γ(D0 → Kπ) = 0.043 ± 0.007 ± 0.003.Physics Letters B. -
Article: Precise measurements of the D0 and D+ meson lifetimes
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: We report precise measurements of the D0 and D+ meson lifetimes by the E687 Collaboration at Fermilab. The measurements have been made using 16000 fully reconstructed decays of the D0 into the K−π+ and K−π+π−π+ final states and 9000 decays of the D+ into the K−π+π+ final state. The lifetimes of the D0 and D+ mesons are measured to be 0.413±0.004±0.003 ps and 1.048±0.015±01011 ps respectively.Physics Letters B. -
Article: A measurement of Γ (DS+ → φμ+ν) /Γ (DS+ → φπ+)
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Fermilab high-energy photoproduction experiment E687 measures a branching ratio of Γ (DS+ → φμ+ν) /Γ (DS+ → φμ+) = 0.58 ± 0.17 (stat) ± 0.07 (sys). This branching ratio is combined with theoretical inputs to obtain a new measurement of the DS+ absolute branching ratio of Γ (DS+ → φμ+) / Γ (DS+ → all) = 0.031 ± 0.009 (stat 0.005 (sys) ± 0.004 (theoretical).Physics Letters B. -
Article: Measurement of the form factors for the decay D+s → φμ+ν
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The fermilab high-energy photoproduction experiment E687 provides a sample of approximately 90 events of the decay mode D+s→ φμ+ν. The ratios of the form factors governing the decay are measured to be Rv=1.8±0.9±0.2 and R2= 1.1±0.8±0.1, implying a polarization of for the electron decay, consistent with our measurement of the form factor for the decay .Physics Letters B.
