ABSTRACT: It is shown for the first time that changes of self-actualization (SA) in patients with CHD are the main risk factor of myocardial infarction (MI) and unstable angina (UA). The clinical course and prognosis of MI correlate with SA prior to the development of an acute coronary event. Isolated correlations exist between CHD risk factors and results of SA questionnaire studies. SA personality peculiarities in patients with MI and UA account for more than 50% dispersion of the results of linear factor analysis.
