ABSTRACT: Cooling load prediction models are expected to play an important role in building. Specifically, they will support advanced
energy-saving optimal control systems. In this study, we develop an applicable predictor scheme, rough set theory (RST) and
fuzzy least square support vector machine (LS-SVM) for building cooling load forecasting. Through the real-world building
environment dataset experiment, we have proved that the reduction feature set exacted by RST has good subject-independence
and intrinsic good separability. Fuzzy LS-SVM predictor demonstrated promising prediction accuracy, better generalization
ability and more rapid execution speed than most of the all benchmarking methods listed in this study.

ABSTRACT: The rapid development of science and technology provides better educational environment and conditions for both learners and teachers. Nowadays quality-oriented education is advocated in China, which aims at cultivating all-round developed students. Collaborative learning helps to promote quality-oriented education and students’ all-around development. Constructing innovative laboratory is a nice way to achieve collaborative learning. This paper probes into constructing a more interesting and efficient learning environment through mobile robotics, which provides a motivating and innovative platform for performing laboratory experiments. Innovative experiments enable students to have better understanding of multidiscipline. Innovative design process also constructs efficient collaborative learning environment to cultivate students’ group spirit, creativity, collaboration, practicing skill, innate ability and personality. Results indicate that students enjoy learning through innovative experiments.

ABSTRACT: The wireless sensor networks (WSN) is one of the most significant technologies in the 21st century. In recent years, achievements in micro-sensor technology and low-power electronics make WSN become into realities in applications. This paper describes a real-deployment of WSN based greenhouse management which is designed and implemented to realize modern precision agriculture. The proposed system can monitor the greenhouse environments, control greenhouse equipment, and provide various and convenient services to consumers with hand-held devices such as a PDA living a farming village. This paper discusses the advantages of using management strategy along wireless sensor-actor network technology for such cost-effective and environmental friendly greenhouse management.

ABSTRACT: Recently, the RFID (radio frequency identification) technology attracts the world market attention as essential technology for ubiquitous environment. The RFID market has focused on transponders and reader development. But the features of RFID system and the constraints of RFID devices may bring about various security problems. In this paper, we propose a novel cross-layer architecture designed to improve the reliability of security and privacy solutions. To support reliable and personal privacy controllable service, the proposed security architecture has user gateway and privacy management server. It is shown that the proposed architecture mitigates many threats relating to RFID user.

ABSTRACT: Recently, home intelligent service is extended to context aware and situation aware automation service by using ubiquitous technology. This paper designs a ubiquitous computing based smart home safety management (U-SHM) for digital life. The proposed scheme integrates RFID and context awareness technologies in ubiquitous environments to increase the efficiency of mobile commerce and improve the life quality. This system provides the security service functions such as the partial credential based user authentication and context-aware access control, and the security policy management functions. We designed the secure and automatic control service using RFID tagged ID card and context based light and temperature management using sensor and RFID tag.Through our proposed U-SHM, the residents can be free and relaxing to gather the ubiquitous environment information around their home all the time.
