ABSTRACT: This paper discusses an interdisciplinary educational initiative led by an instructional team with backgrounds in engineering and psychology in the context of an ergonomics course for software engineers. Our case study evaluates the educational outcomes of a course project that dealt with the error analysis and prototype-level redesign of a software tool for elderly users. The paper presents the rationale for the choice of this project, the project organization, and the evaluation of project-related outcomes with respect to the course learning objectives.
