Article: [Focal myositis--an indication for surgery? A case report].
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This case report describes focal myositis, a rare inflammatory pseudotumorous disease previously not mentioned in the surgical literature. Most often a single muscle of the upper or lower extremity is affected. Usually the diagnostic process and treatment require a long time. We present a useful diagnostic cascade and a surgical therapy, which allows the histological differentiation between malignant and inflammatory disease. Even after partial resection of the tumor, the prognosis of focal myositis is excellent.Der Chirurg 11/2002; 73(10):1063-6. · 0.70 Impact Factor -
Article: Intraosseous leiomyoma of the neck of the femur. A case report.
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Intraosseous benign leiomyoma is a rare manifestation of disseminated leiomyomatosis. In a 54 year old housewife presenting with a painful left hip due to a cystic lesion of the femoral neck, histological assessment following resection of the cyst showed a benign intraosseous leiomyoma. Years before a diagnosis of disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis had been made.International Orthopaedics 03/1994; 18(1):47-9. · 2.03 Impact Factor -
