Article: Diagonal charge stripes giving a suppression of spectral weight at selected spots on the Fermi surface
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Here we report an asymmetric suppresion of spectral weight at the Fermi surface around the M points using angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The results provide direct evidence for diagonal stripes in the Bi2212 superconductors.12/1998; -
Article: Evidence for a striped phase of high $T_c$ superconductor at the Fermi surface
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: A complete Fermi surface in the normal state of superconducting Bi2_2Sr2_2CaCu2_2O8+d_{8+\delta} at the optimum doping (Tc=91T_c=91 K) has been measured by angle scanning photoemission spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation. The Fermi surface reveals broken segments and hot spots of high photointensity along lines of ky = n.0.23-1k_y = n.0.23\AA^{-1} in the (p,p\pi ,\pi) direction. The pseudogap observed at (p\pi,0) in underdoped materials is one of this missing segments. The results indicate the presence of characteristic subbands of a superlattice of quantum stripes. This is formed by an ordered array of ~ 14\sim 14 + large stripes.Zeitschrift für Physik B Condensed Matter 11/1997; 104(4):703-706. -
Article: The non-Fermi liquid behavior and diagonal lattice stripes in cuprate superconductors
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: We have studied momentum distribution of photoemission intensity around the Fermi surface of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ (Bi2212) high Tc superconductor by angle-resolved photoemission. The line shape of the energy distribution curves show a spectral function A(k,ω) expected for a non-Fermi liquid behaviour. The Fermi surface contour in the `even symmetry' reveals the suppression of spectral weight due to coupling with joint incommensurate charge density wave (ICDW) at q(−0.4π,0.4π) in the diagonal direction and the spin density wave (SDW) at G(π,π). Additional spectral weight is found at (0.6π,0.6π) due to scattering of electrons with SDW at optimum doping as revealed by constant energy contour in `odd symmetry'.Physica C: Superconductivity.
