    ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: A 10 year-old male was referred to our department for a delay in the eruption of his lower canine, premolars and molars on the right side. The panoramic radiograph showed a multilocular radiolucent lesion approximately 3.5 x 7.5 cm in diameter including the right canine, first and second premolar and second mandibular molar. The lesion was clinically diagnosed as dentigerous cyst. It was enucleated via curettage of the bone bed and diagnosed as ameloblastic fibroma at the histopathological examination. After twenty-one months, radiographs showed that the surgical defect had filled with new bone.

    ABSTRACT: We report a case of heterotopic ossification of the maxillary sinus in a 30-year-old female who was treated surgically in our department. Heterotopic ossification (HO) refers to the formation of mature lamellar bone in nonosseous tissues. We present the radiographic and computed tomographic appearance, and discuss the surgical treatment, histopathologic results, and differential diagnosis. To the best of our knowledge, no other case of HO of the maxillary sinus has been reported yet.

    ABSTRACT: ZET Dental implant uygulanacak bölgenin belirli miktarda ve kalitede kemik dokusu barındırması gerekir. Kemik dokusunun yetersiz olduğu durumlarda kemik greftleri ve/veya yönlendirilmiş doku rejenerasyonu prosedürleri uygulanmaktadır. İmplant uygulaması sırasında anatomik yapılara özen göstermemek, dikkatsiz veya eksik cerrahi uygulamalar ve planlama hataları komplikasyonlara yol açabilmektedir. ABSTRACT Adequate bone quality and quantity is a definite prerequisites for implant surgery. Bone grafts and/or guided tissue regeneration procedures are used in order to overcome difficulties which may possibly arise from insufficient bony structure. Not regarding anatomical structures, lack of surgical technique or improper pre-surgical planing may result in complications in dental implant applications.
