    ABSTRACT: The first 2D open-architecture Ba(II) perchlorate with organic template, [(H+4-MP)2Ba(ClO4)4]n (1) (4-MP = 4-methylpyridine), has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, TGA, DSC and fluorescence properties. The Ba(II) centers of the icosahedral (BaO12) were chelated through μ2-perchlorate donors to form a 2D (4, 4) topology with the protonated amine molecules mounted to the main body of the inorganic framework by N-H\ctdot O H-bonding interactions. To verify the generality of the synthetic methods, 4-MP has been replaced by other different amine templates. The results have shown that the crystallization processes are very sensitive to the induced effect of the organic templates.

    ABSTRACT: Two hybrid macrocyclic-based supramolecular compounds, [(PM-NH3)·(18-crown-6)]2·[Bi2Cl8(H2O)2] (1) and [(H3O)·(18-crown-6)]2·(Sb2Cl8) (2), have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR, XRPD and 1H NMR (PM-NH3+=phenylmethanaminium). The macrocyclic cation, [(PM-NH3)·(18-crown-6)]+, was formed by the PM-NH3+ inserting into the 18-crown-6 through strong N–H⋯O18-crown-6 H-bonding interactions. And the [Bi2Cl8(H2O)2]2− anion clusters were presented to maintain the charge balance and result in the formation of macrocycle-based compound 1. In compound 2, the disordered H3O+ cations were embedded in the macrocyclic molecules through six strong O–H⋯O18-crown-6 H-bonds to form a macrocyclic [(H3O)·(18-crown-6)]+ cation, and the dinuclear (Sb2Cl8)2− was provided to balance the cation. Therefore, the anion clusters and macrocyclic cation assemblies were alternately stacked together to build two novel supramolecular functional compounds. In addition, the thermal analysis and luminescent properties were investigated.

    ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the zwitterionic title compound, C(17)H(11)N(3)O, the naphthalene ring system is planar [maximum deviation = 0.029 (3) Å] and is oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.55 (3)° with respect to the benzene ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond results in the formation of a planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers.

    ABSTRACT: The title compound, C4H12NO3 +·C2HCl2O2 −, was obtained from dichloro­acetic acid and 2-amino-2-(hydroxy­meth­yl)propane-1,3-diol. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are connected by inter­molecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding, forming a two-dimensional array parallel to (001). The crystal used for analysis was a merohedral twin, as indicated by the Flack parameter of 0.67 (6).

    ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(17)H(21)N(3)O, displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the planes of the two benzene rings is 50.96 (11)° and a strong intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond is present. An inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-action stabilizes the crystal structure.
