Conference Proceeding: Data fusion for scatterer identification and localization in an indoor spherical 3d RCS near-field facility
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Indoor Radar Cross Section measurement facilities are usually dedicated to the characterization of only one azimuth cut and one elevation cut of the full spherical RCS target pattern. To provide a full function of the roll angle and the azimuth angle, an indoor near field monostatic RCS layout has been developed at CEA, consisting in a spherical experimental layout. From the acquired raw data, signal processing and data fusion techniques provide a 3D map of the main scatterers.Radar Conference - Surveillance for a Safer World, 2009. RADAR. Conference Proceeding: An Ultra-Wideband radar concept for the detection of buried victims beneath building rubble
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The deployment of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radars could dramatically improve the efficiency of rescue teams after a building collapse. UWB radars would provide a reliable and fast localization of alive victims buried under thick layers of rubble. This paper introduces a concept of UWB radar for the detection of buried victims beneath building rubble. After a theoretical approach dealing with the propagation of electromagnetic waves through the rubble, the UWB radar architecture and concept are introduced. First experimental results are finally presented.Radar Conference - Surveillance for a Safer World, 2009. RADAR. International; 11/2009 -
