ABSTRACT: Increased evidence indicating ghrelin's direct influence on bone has been reported, but previous studies did not investigate its relationship with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) in vivo. Coagulation disorders are considered to play important roles in ONFH. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship of ghrelin, von Willebrand Factor (vWF) and other potentially relevant indicators with non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

ABSTRACT: In colorectal surgery, eradicating the fistula and maintaining continence are still complex challenges for a colorectal surgeon. A minimally invasive method using a novel device was performed to consecutively treat 14 patients with anal fistula from August 2008 to November 2009. After a follow-up period of 36 months, 13 patients achieved successful closure of their fistula tracts, and recurrence occurred only in one patient. Recurrence was due to the delay of dressing change. No patient had interference with continence, and no major intra- and postoperative complications were identified. Using the novel device with invasive methods can be a promising alternative for managing anal fistulas.

ABSTRACT: To verify the clinical efficacy on chronic fatigue syndrome of qi deficiency syndrome treated with acupuncture at selective time and explore the effect mechanism. Eighty patients were randomized into a selective-time-acupuncture group and an acupuncture group, 40 cases in each one. Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), Hegu (LI 4), Taichong (LR 3), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Zusanli (ST 36) were selected in the two groups. In the selective-time-acupuncture group, acupuncture was used at 9:00am to 11:00am. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was used at any time except in the range from 9:00am to 11:00am. No any manipulation was applied after the arrival of needling sensation. The treatment was given once every day, 10 day treatment made one session and two sessions of treatment were required. The fatigue scale was adopted to evaluate the efficacy before and after treatment in the patients of the two groups. The ratios among CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in the peripheral blood were detected before ad b a after treatment. In the acupuncture group, the total score of fatigue and the score of physical fatigue were reduced after treatment as compared with those before treatment (all P<0.05). In the selective-time -acupuncture group, the total score of fatigue, the s core of physical fatigue and the score of mental fatigue after treatment were reduced obviously as compared with those hefore treatment (all P<0. 01). The improvements in the scores of the selective-time-acupuncture group were superior to the acupuncture group (all P<0. 05). The ratio of CD3+ and CD8+ T cells was increased obviously after treatment in the two groups (all P<0. 05) and the ratio of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells was reduced obviously in the selective-time-acupuncture group (P<0. 05), which was better than that in the acupuncture group (all P<0.05). The total effective rate was 95.0% (38/40) in the selective-time-acupuncture group, which was better than 80.0% (32/40) in the acupuncture group (P<0.05). The acupuncture therapy at selective time is effective in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome of qi deficiency syndrome, which is especially better at relieving mental fatigue. The effect of this therapy is achieved probably by improving the immune function via the regulation of the ratios among CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.

ABSTRACT: Sclerostin, expressed exclusively by osteocytes, is a negative regulator of bone formation. To gain insights into the action of sclerostin in postmenopausal osteoporosis, we evaluated serum sclerostin levels in postmenopausal women and investigated its possible associations with bone turnover markers in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis. We detected serum sclerostin, and measured lumbar spine bone mineral density in 650 Chinese postmenopausal women. We also assessed serum levels of β-isomerized C-terminal crosslinking of type I collagen, intact N-terminal propeptide of type I collagen, N-mid fragment of osteocalcin, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and estradiol. Serum sclerostin levels were lower in postmenopausal osteoporotic women compared with non-osteoporotic postmenopausal women ((38.79 ± 7.43) vs. (52.86 ± 6.69) pmol/L, P < 0.001). Serum sclerostin was positively correlated with lumbar spine bone mineral density (r = 0.391, P < 0.001) and weakly negatively correlated with β-isomerized C-terminal crosslinking of type I collagen, intact N-terminal propeptide of type I collagen, N-mid fragment of osteocalcin (r = -0.225, P < 0.001; r = -0.091, P = 0.046; r = -0.108, P = 0.018; respectively) in postmenopausal osteoporosis. There was no significant association of serum sclerostin with age, body mass index, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and estradiol (r = -0.004, P = 0.926; r = 0.067, P = 0.143; r = 0.063, P = 0.165; r = -0.045, P = 0.324; respectively). Sclerostin may be involved in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis and may play a role in bone turnover.

ABSTRACT: Glycoprotein (GP) Ibα ectodomain shedding has important implications for thrombosis and hemostasis. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase 17 (ADAM17) was identified to play an essential role in agonist induced GPIbα shedding. The relationship of GPIbα shedding and ADAM17 in the acute stage of atherosclerotic ischemic stroke (AIS) patients has not been thoroughly studied. A total of 306 patients and 230 controls matched for age, sex, race, history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus were enrolled in the study. GPIbα, ADAM17, glycocalicin were detected by flow cytometry, Western blotting, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) respectively. Compared with the control group, the expression of GPIbα in patients with acute ischemic stroke was significantly lower (P=0.000, P<0.01). Plasma glycocalicin and ADAM17 in AIS group were higher than those in control group (P=0.699, P=0.000). Pearson's analysis showed glycocalicin bore no correlation with GPIbα in AIS patients (r=0.095, P>0.05). GPIbα and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) had negative correlation (r=-0.514, P<0.01). Our findings indicate that ADAM17 may be a risk factor for ischemic stroke in Chinese and the expression of GPIbα can serve as a measure for stroke severity.

ABSTRACT: Objective. To demonstrate the role of Wnt/ β -catenin canonical pathway in postmenopausal osteoporosis by evaluating serum β -catenin levels in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis and analyzing their possible relationship with serum OPG, RANKL, the ratio of RANKL/OPG, sclerostin, and bone turnover markers. Methods. 480 patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis and 170 healthy postmenopausal women were enrolled in the study. Serum β -catenin, OPG, RANKL, and sclerostin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Bone status was assessed by measuring bone mineral density and bone turnover markers. Estradiol levels were also detected. Results. Serum β -catenin levels were lower in postmenopausal osteoporotic women compared to nonosteoporotic postmenopausal women (26.26 ± 14.81 versus 39.33 ± 5.47 pg/mL, P < 0.001). Serum β -catenin was positively correlated with osteoprotegerin (r = 0.232, P < 0.001) and negatively correlated with the ratio of RANKL/OPG, body mass index, and sclerostin (r = -0.128, P = 0.005; r = -0.117, P = 0.010; r = -0.400, P < 0.001, resp.) in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis. Conclusion. The results indicate that lower serum β -catenin and concomitantly higher ratio of RANKL/OPG may be involved in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Functional communication between RANKL/RANK/OPG system and Wnt pathways plays an important role in postmenopausal osteoporosis.

ABSTRACT: To observe the effects of dachengqi decoction (DD) containing serum on the expressions of caveolin-1 (CAV-1), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), and nuclear transcription factor-kappa B (NF-kappaB) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs). The DD and the DD containing serum were prepared. The in vitro cultured HBECs were randomly divided into 7 groups, i.e., the normal serum control group, the LPS intervention group, the low dose DD serum containing group, the middle dose DD serum containing group, the high dose DD serum containing group, the Western medicine control group, the vehicle serum control group. The effects of DD containing serum at different doses on the mRNA and protein expressions of CAV-1, eNOS, and NF-kappaB were detected using methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) colorimetry, Real-time PCR, immuocytochemical assay, and Western blot. The mRNA and protein expressions of CAV-1, eNOS, and NF-kappaB at the basic levels were detected in the HBECs of the normal serum control group. After stimulated by LPS, the mRNA and protein expressions of CAV-1, eNOS, and NF-kappaB increased more significantly in the LPS intervention group than in the normal serum control group (P < 0.01), while DD containing serums at different doses all could suppress the mRNA and protein expressions of CAV-1, eNOS, and NF-kappaB. DD containing serum could inhibit the expressions of CAV-1, eNOS, and NF-kappaB in LPS stimulated HBECs.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms of plumbagin, a naphthoquinone derived from medicinal plant Plumbago zeylanica, on human gastric cancer (GC) cells. Human gastric cancer cell lines SGC-7901, MKN-28, and AGS were used. The cell viability was examined using CCK-8 viability assay. Cell proliferation rate was determined using both clonogenic assay and EdU incorporation assay. Apoptosis was detected via Annexin V/propidium iodide double-labeled flow cytometry. Western blotting was used to assess the expression of both NF-κB-regulated gene products and TNF-α-induced activation of p65, IκBα, and IKK. The intracellular location of NF-κB p65 was detected using confocal microscopy. Plumbagin (2.5-40 μmol/L) concentration-dependently reduced the viability of the GC cells. The IC(50) value of plumbagin in SGC-7901, MKN-28, and AGS cells was 19.12, 13.64, and 10.12 μmol/L, respectively. The compound (5-20 μmol/L) concentration-dependently induced apoptosis of SGC-7901 cells, and potentiated the sensitivity of SGC-7901 cells to chemotherapeutic agents TNF-αand cisplatin. The compound (10 μmol/L) downregulated the expression of NF-κB-regulated gene products, including IAP1, XIAP, Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, tumor factor (TF), and VEGF. In addition to inhibition of NF-κB p65 nuclear translocation, the compound also suppressed TNF-α-induced phosphorylation of p65 and IKK, and the degradation of IκBα. Plumbagin inhibits cell growth and potentiates apoptosis in human GC cells through the NF-κB pathway.

ABSTRACT: To explore the effect and its mechanism of acupoint catgut-embedding for experimental colitis in rats. Eighteen SD rats were randomly divided into a normal control (NC) group, a model (MO) group and a acupoint catgut-embedding (AC) group, 6 rats in each group. Animals in MO group and AC group were treated by trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid (TNBS) to establish model with colitis. No other treatment was given to the rats in MO group, but acupoint catgut-embedding was implanted at "Shangjuxu" (ST 37), "Tianshu" (ST 25) and "Dachangshu" (BL 25) in the rats in AC group. The symptoms of diarrhea and bloody stool, and histopathology changes in colon were observed 15 days after the treatment. Expression of IL-17, beta2AR, NFkappaBp65 were observed by immunohistochemistry. Expressions of NF-kappaBp65 and beta2AR in splenic lymphocyte were detected by the Western blot method. Diarrhea and mucus bloody purulent stool were soon controlled, and colon mucosa injures were obviously improved in AC group. The NF-kappaBp65 value in splenic lymphocytes of 249.70 +/- 13.66 in MO) group was higher than 86.22 +/- 8.09 in NC group (P < 0.01), and 219.02 +/- 7.42 in AC group was less than that in MO group (P < 0.01). The expression of beta2AR in splenic lymphocytes of 594.97 +/- 173.22 in MO group was less than 957.45 +/- 171.56 in NC group (P < 0.01), and 1335.93 +/- 244.34 in AC group was higher than that in MO group (P < 0.01). The expression of IL-17 in colon mucosa in MO group was increased, while the expression of IL-17 in colon mucosa in AC group was decreased. Acupoint catgut-embedding at Shangjuxu (ST 37), Tianshu (ST 25) and Dachangshu (BL 25) has obviously effect in treating experimental colitis and the mechanism may be related to regulate the expression of IL-17, beta2AR and NF-kappaBp65.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects of Salvia Miltiorrhiza Liguspyragine Hydrochloride and Glucose Injection (, SLGI) on the expression of platelet membrane receptors proteinase-activated receptor-1 (PAR1) and proteinase-activated receptor-4 (PAR4) in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients on chronic haemodialysis (HD). Eighty-six ESRD patients on HD (treated group) were treated with SLGI, 7 days as one therapeutic course, for two successive courses. The previous therapies were unchanged. Flow cytometry was used to assess the expression of platelet PAR1 and PAR4 in the patients, and turbidity method was used to determine the platelet maximum aggregation rate (MAR). Meanwhile, renal function was measured. The final data were compared with those before treatment and with those in the normal control group (54 healthy subjects). Compared with the normal control group, the expressions of PAR1 and PAR4 and platelet MAR in ESRD patients on HD was significantly higher before treatment (P=0.001, P=0.006, and P=0.008); after treatment with SLGI, the above indices in patients were remarkably decreased (P=0.036 and P=0.046), except PAR4 (P=0.067), but still higher than those in the normal control group, however, it was not statistically significant. (1) The overexpression of PAR1 and PAR4 might lead to increased platelet aggregation and this could be one of the reasons for the thrombotic events in ESRD patients on HD. (2) SLGI was able to down-regulate the expression of PAR1 in ESRD patients on HD, improve platelet function, and regulate platelet activation.

ABSTRACT: To examine whether plasma adiponectin level is correlated with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Blood adiponectin level in patients with nontraumatic ONFH (n = 120) was compared with a group of healthy subjects (n = 120). Patients with hip osteoarthritis (OA; n = 30) and traumatic ONFH (n = 45) were included as controls. Potential compounding factors, such as plasma low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), apolipoprotein A1 (apo A1), apolipoprotein B (apo B), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and C-reactive protein (CRP) were also examined. Patients with nontraumatic ONFH had significantly lower plasma levels of adiponectin than the healthy controls (7.14 ± 3.53 vs 10.93 ± 3.41 μg/ml, respectively; p < 0.001). Adiponectin level was positively correlated with HDL (r = 0.282, p < 0.001) and age (r = 0.145, p = 0.01), yet negatively correlated with body mass index (r = -0.70, p < 0.001), TG (r = -0.55, p<0.001), LDL/HDL ratio (r = -0.173, p = 0.002), and CRP (r = -0.634, p < 0.001). No correlation was seen with LDL (r = -0.017, p = 0.762). A multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that adiponectin level is an independent predictor of the presence of nontraumatic ONFH (p < 0.001, OR 0.676, 95% CI 0.546 to 0.845). Low adiponectin level is significantly associated with the presence of nontraumatic ONFH. This biomarker may be useful in assessing the potential presence of nontraumatic ONFH.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the effect of Dachengqi decoction on NF-kappaB p65 expression in lung of rats with partial intestinal obstruction and the underlying mechanism, 30 SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham-operation group, model group and Dachengqi decoction treatment group (Dachengqi group), with 10 animals in each group. The models were made by partially ligating their large intestines outside the body. The pathological changes were analyzed by HE staining. The expression of NF-kappaB p65 in rats lung were measured by using real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry respectively. Moreover, the expression of caveolin-1 in rats lung was also measured to. Increased edema, interstitial thickening, hemorrhage, and infiltration of inflammatory cells were found in the model group. In contrast, this change was significantly reduced in Dachengqi group as compared with model group. In addition, the up-regulated caveolin-1 and NF-kappaB p65 were also suppressed by Dachengqi decoction in lung of rats with partial intestinal obstruction. We are led to concluded that the caveolin-1-NF-kappaB pathway plays an important role in the development of lung injury of rats with partial intestinal obstruction and Dachengqi decoction could down-regulate the expression of caveolin-1 and NF-kappaB p65 in lung of rats with partial intestinal obstruction.

ABSTRACT: The efficacy of injecting sclerosing agent next to transverse process of cervical vertebra to induce vertebral artery type of cervical syndrome (CSA) was observed. Twenty rabbits were randomly divided into two groups: the model group and the control group. The rabbits in the model group were injected with sclerosing agent next to transverse process of cervical vertebray, on the contrary, the rabbits in the control group were injected with nothing. Transcranial Doppler (TCD) was used to detect the average speed of blood (Vm), pulsatility index (Pi) and the resistant index (Ri) of the vertebral artery, hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the morphological changes, and immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of alpha-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2). TCD showed increased Pi, Ri and decreased Vm in the model group (P<0.05) compared with the control group. HE staining revealed hyperplasia and hypertrophied smooth muscle cells in the model group (P<0.05). Immunohistochemistry displayed up-regulation of alpha-SMA and MMP-2 in the model group (P<0.05). It was concluded that injecting sclerosing agent next to transverse process of cervical vertebra induces remodeling of vertebral artery in rabbits, suggesting it is a practical method to establish CSA animal model.

ABSTRACT: The effects of Wumeiwan (WMW) on TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and NF-kappaBp65 in rats with ulcerative colitis (UC) were investigated, the curative effectiveness of WMW vs salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) was compared, and the action mechanism was analyzed. Fifty-Six Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=14 in each group, with equal ratio of male and female): normal control group, model group, SASP group, and WMW group. Except normal control group, the rat UC models in the remaining three groups were established using the method of 2.4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) immunization and acetic acid local enema. The rats in model group, SASP group, and WMW group were treated with distilled water, SASP, and WMW respectively. The changes in the symptoms and signs were observed, and levels of IL-6, IL-8, TNF-alpha, IL-10 and the expression of NF-kappaBp65 in the colonic tissues were statistically analyzed. The results showed that the levels of IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha were significantly increased (P<0.01), while those of IL-10 significantly reduced (P<0.01) after establishment of rat UC models as compared with normal control group. The levels of IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha were obviously lower, but the level of IL-10 was obviously higher in WMW and SASP groups than those in model group (P<0.05). The levels of IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha were lower, while the level of IL-10 was higher in WMW group than in SASP group. NF-kappaBp65 was expressed negatively or weakly in normal colonic tissues. The positive expression rate of NF-kappaBp65 in WMW group and SASP group was obviously lower than in model group (P<0.01), and there was significant difference between WMW group and SASP group (P<0.05). It was concluded that rat UC model was established successfully. WMW could up-regulate the expression of IL-10, down-regulate the expression of TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-8, and inhibit the NF-kappaBp65 activity to adjust immune function, indicating WMW had better curative effects on UC in rats.

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to investigate the effects of Zhihuang (枳黄) decoction on CD14 expression in the lipopolysaccharide signal transduction pathway of alcohol-induced liver disease in rats. Seventy-five Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups. Ethanol (56%, weight/volumn) was intragastrically administrated to 50 rats (14 mL/kg body weight per day) for 10 days to establish a model of alcohol-induced liver disease, and 25 of these 50 rats were treated with Zhihuang decoction simultaneously. Liver injury was evaluated by biochemical examination. The plasma content of endotoxin was assayed by biochemistry. The expression of CD14 mRNA and protein in rat liver was measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry, respectively. Zhihuang decoction pretreatment significantly protected against acute alcohol-induced liver injury, which was evidenced by the decrease of elevated serum alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. In addition, the level of plasma endotoxin and up-regulation of CD14 was also suppressed by Zhihuang decoction in alcohol-intoxicated rats. Zhihuang decoction can significantly reduce CD14 expression in the lipopolysaccharide signal transduction pathway, which is one of the most important mechanisms of Zhihuang decoction to treat hepatic injury induced by alcohol in rats.

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to investigate the expression of protease-activated receptors (PARs) on platelets in healthy individuals and preliminarily elucidate physiological functions of PARs. Thirty healthy volunteers, who did not take any anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents within 10 days before the examination, were recruited. Fasting venous blood (5 mL) was taken from the medial cubital vein in each individual and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) was prepared. The expression of PAR1 mRNA and PAR4 mRNA in PRP was determined by RT-PCR analysis. The results showed that the average levels of PAR1 mRNA and PAR4 mRNA on platelets in healthy individuals were 0.1601 ± 0.0269 and 0.1073 ± 0.0194 respectively. In combination with literature analysis, it was concluded that the thrombin signaling pathway plays a vital role in the development of hemostasis and thrombosis, and the selective PARs antagonist has the potential for extensive application in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects of beta-elemene on the ANG II-AT1 receptor pathway in rats with liver fibrosis, a model of hepatic fibrosis was induced by hypodermical injection of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) into Wistar male rats. beta-elemene was intraperitonealy administered into the rats for 8 weeks (0.1 mL/100 g body weight per day). Masson staining was used to observe the liver fibrosis of rats and liver functions were measured by enzymatic kinetic analysis. The content of hydroxyproline in liver tissues was detected by specimen alkaline hydrolysis. The level of plasma ANG in blood II plasma was detected by radioimmunoassay. The expression of AT1R in rat liver were measured using reverse transcriptional-polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry respectively. The results showed that beta-elemene could reduce the collagen disposition in liver and inhibit the progression of liver fibrosis. In addition, the levels of plasma ANG II and the expression of hepatic AT1R in rats with liver fibrosis were also suppressed by beta-elemene. It is concluded that the ANG II-AT1 receptor pathway plays an important role in the development of hepatic fibrosis and beta-elemene could down-regulate the levels of plasma ANG II and the expression of hepatic AT1R in rats with liver fibrosis.

ABSTRACT: To observe the effect of Xiaoyu Zhixue Tablet (XYZXT) on expression of platelet membrane glycoproteins (GP) Ib/IX/V complex and its component GP Ibalpha in patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy, so as to explore its possible mechanism. Ninety-eight patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy were randomly assigned to two groups, the TCM group (68 cases) treated with XYZXT and the Western medicine group (30 cases) treated with adrenosin, vitamins C, K and P, for 6 months totally. The hemostatic effect and the platelet aggregation recovery rate in the two groups were observed. And expressions of GPIb/IX/V complex and GP Ibalpha were analyzed by flow cytometry in both groups before and after treatment as well as in 34 healthy persons for control. RESUITS: The hemostatic effective rate was 89.7% in the TCM group and 46.7% in the Western medicine group (u= 5.68, P < 0.01); the platelet aggregation recovery rate in the two groups was 67.6% and 3.3% respectively (chi2 = 34. 49, P < 0.01). The fluorescence intensity of GPIb/IX/V complex and GPIbalpha were lower in both groups before treatment than those of the healthy control (P < 0.05), but after treatment the two markers elevated in the TCM group, approaching the control (P > 0.05), and significantly higher than those in the Western medicine group (P < 0.05). The partial mechanism of XYZXT in treating hemorrhagic thrombopathy might be its regulation on the expression of thrombin receptor at the receptor protein level.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the role of platelet membrane glycoprotein (GP) Ib/IX/V complex and its subunit GP Ibalpha in patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy (HT), the expressions of GP Ib/IX/V complex and GP Ibalpha, defined as mean fluorescence intensity (MFI), were assessed by flow cytometry. The maximum aggregation of platelet was determined by turbidity method. These indicators were compared among 68 HT patients with the presenting complaint of hemorrhage, 33 well-controlled HT patients and 32 normal healthy subjects. The results showed that the MFI of GP Ib/IX/V complex and GP Ibalpha was markedly lower in HT patients with current hemorrhage than that in the healthy subjects, with difference being statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the expressions of GP Ib/IX/V complex and GP Ibalpha between well-controlled HT patients and normal healthy subjects (P>0.05). It was concluded that the expression of GP Ib/IX/V complex, the receptor of thrombin and von Willebrand factor, was down-regulated in HT patients with current hemorrhage, which might result in the dysfunction of platelet aggregation and recurrence of HT.
