ABSTRACT: Evolutionary robotics offers an efficient and easy-to-use framework for automatically building behaviors for an autonomous robot. However, a major drawback of this approach relies in the difficulty to define the fitness function (i.e. the learning setup) in order to get satisfying results. Recent works addressed this issue either by decomposing the learning task or by endowing the agent with such capabilities that should make the goal easier to achieve. Literature in evolutionary approach shows that modifying the very nature of genetic operators and/or fitness during the course of evolution may lead to better results for complex problems. In the scope of this short paper, we are interested in the reformulation of a straightforward complex fitness function into more subtle versions using different approaches

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we address the problem of object detection in an autonomous mobile robot. The goal is to define a perceptual system that can quickly adapt itself to detect a specific object. To achieve this, we propose a goal-oriented approach to let the robot build the most fitted image descriptors for a given object.

ABSTRACT: L'étude de la filtration et la mesure de la perméabilité à l'eau des substances poreuses ou pulvérulentes se poursuivent principalement avec la perspective directe des applications industrielles ou agronomiques. Le phénomène est régi par la loi bien connue de DARCY (1855). L'intérêt purement scientifique de la question demeure cependant indiscutable dans le cadre des grands problèmes de la Mécanique des Fluides. Aussi, avons-nous jugé que les applications pratiques, multiples et primordiales, qui sont du reste à l'origine des études sur la perméabilité, pourront profiter de recherches de Laboratoire entreprises dans un esprit nouveau. Dans ce Mémoire nous développons les points suivants : I. Terminologie. Notations. Lois. II. Historique. III. Point de vue actuel du problème de la filtration. IV. Le perméabilimètre de précision. V.
