ABSTRACT: The authors report the clinical history of a 47-year-old patient hospitalised as an emergency with acute respiratory distress complicated by cardiocirculatory arrest. The diagnosis of pulmonary embolism was rapidly suspected and confirmed by emergency pulmonary angiography. A definite diagnosis enabled the early prescription of fibrinolytic treatment in situ. The interest of this case lies essentially in demonstration of the efficacy of fibrinolytic treatment which enabled the rapid restoration of a stable hemodynamic status and normalisation of angiographic appearances within a few days.

ABSTRACT: Intestinal infarction is due to arterial occlusion or to a thrombosis of the superior mesenteric vein in the case of intra-abdominal sepsis. We report a case unique as far as we know of thrombosis of the superior mesenteric artery due to an appendicular abscess in a young girl without any vascular-risk.

ABSTRACT: The authors report the electrophysiological study of severe catecholaminergic double tachycardia in a young athletic subject with an apparently healthy heart. The literature is reviewed and the mechanisms of double tachycardia are discussed, together with the role of the sympathetic nervous system and the therapeutic implications.
